Nintendo Wii News | Pro Evolution Soccer 6 for Wii?

By James Temperton 29.08.2006 9

In a statement released a couple of days ago on the English part of their Japanese website, Konami rubbished the idea of Pro Evolution 6 being an XBOX 360 exclusive. The statement reads:

It has been falsely reported on some websites that KONAMI will release its Pro Evolution Soccer 6 exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox 360. These reports are not true. KONAMI is currently proceeding with the production of a multi-platform release of Pro Evolution Soccer 6 so that as many people as possible can enjoy the game.

So Microsoft got it wrong (somehow) and it will indeed be a multiplatform offering. Konami have been very clever indeed by not confirming it for the Wii, but if they want as many people as possible to enjoy it, that would make sense. No doubt someone will confirm something very soon...

Yeah read about it, i even made a topic in the forums about itSmilie
Hopfully the wii gets a version, I still won't buy it but it is the biggest and best known football title out there, so it would be nice to see Konami support the wii with a version.

Well the DSversion looks very good in motion so i hope the Wii will get it's own unique version.

Ms pulled this stunt before, remember when they proclaimed that GTAIV will be an Xbox360exclusive when Rockstar stated that it was due to be out for the PS3 and 360.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Made me laugh...just like the supposed GTA4 exclusivity Smilie

Yeah, Microsoft should really stop talking...

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

The GTA thing was a clever PR stunt, wasn't it? Everyone picked up on the first announcement about its exclusivity, and forgot about the 2nd correcting the mistake. I would imagine the same thing will happen here.

It's how tabloids get away with fake stories about celebrities too.. no-one ever sees the apology on page 47, but everyone sees the first story on page 1.

I really hope the Wii rumour is true. I would love Pro Evo Online on a Nintendo console. Brings me back to the multiplayer madness of the ISS days on the '64. Ahh, nostalgia personified

It would be brilliant to put it on Wii, as I know many Nintendo fans have been craving this football series forever, if the DS version does well, then they'll have no choice, right? Smilie

Besides, from what I've heard, it's (one of) the only good football games there is, so Nintendo need it on their system anyway, since it's such a strong game.

I'll take the DS version as soon as it gets released, and I hope PES will be released for Wii too, if not this year maybe next year.
And this of course not for the "deal" M$ claims to have but because it would be too soon for the Wii.
Anyway it's just marketing, now many people have heard the M$ statement and not the Konami correction, so they think PES6 is exclusive to 360.
