Nintendo Tidbits | FFIII Sales, Tingle RPG & Tecmo on VC!

By Adam Riley 29.08.2006 12

Thanks to Japanese website Nintendo Inside, we can reveal that despite Square Enix's original projection of 350,000 sales for Final Fantasy III on the DS in its first week, sales tracker Enterbrain is reporting that the game has now reached the 500,000 mark, clearly showing that the RPG heavyweight managed to get even more stock onto shop shelves after seeing the demand on Day One!

Not only that, but user feedback on the game has been extremely high, which in Japan generally means that a title will have good staying power, meaning that FFIII could actually hit a million with ease and perhaps even top the original NES version's sales (around 1.4 million in Japan).

In other news, it appears that interest is currently very high for the Tingle RPG that is due to d

PES was delayed, but the DS Lite colour wasn't...It's the PES + Black Lite bundle that was delayed Smilie

And I reckon next on the VC will be SNK/Ignition, with the likes of Konami, Square-Enix, Capcom, Bandai and Namco following soon after...

I am really looking forward to SE's VC offerings, even if it makes all of these FF GBA remakes seem a bit redundant. Or whatever the word is.

It would be really weird to see a company like EA on the VC. Smilie

FIFA 98' wasn't bad, indoor football was it's highlight.

Any ideas when PESDS is going to be released in Japan, raz. I want it desperatley beofre the Wii hits.

Does it not seem a bit odd to launch a new colour with a Tingle game althought the game has come in for a lot of praise *hopes it can reach 300k* maybe they should have bundled it with Dalmatian edition of Nintendogs or Common Sense Training let's face it anything with the word TRAINING means lots of sales in Japan.

Tingle should make 200,000 with any luck...maybe 300,000 if it gets good word of mouth (Famitsu gave it something like 33/40, which should help).

PES6 DS is out at the end of October in Europe, so the Japanese version shouldn't be later than that...

It's good to see developers taking advantage of the VC, at least this is one officially announced support.

Silence is the loudest noise we could possibly hear.

Awesome news for FF/Square-Enix, and good stuff for the Wii SmilieSmilie

I have a feeling that Tingle RPG could be a hidden gem of a game.

End of October good news it would never get my attention when the Wii is out.

As for Final Fantasy i am pretty condifent that it can surpass 1.4m units, which means more Square-Enix love for the Nintendo DS and Wii i sure as hell ain't complaining and i don't see anyone else complaining Smilie *has look... no complaints.. no wait sees one dickhead saying SE are shite kung fu kick to the head.. that sorted him out* Smilie

Ninja Gaiden! Wii!

You'll find out that there's going to be a quite a few suprise developers bringing software unto Wii's virtual console.
Speculation has it that Capcom will be bringing it's old streetfighter franchises while Konami will be bringing the old International Superstar Soccer games to the V.C. and that's just them lol SNK and EA have something in the works as well.......You should hear a heck of a lot more b/w 14th Sept and TGS. Oh and don't be suprised if b/w now and December, Capcom announce the multi-format release date of a title that was orignally supposed to be a PS3 exclusive.
Make way for the Wii already. Smilie

I think the title you are referring to is Devil may Cry 4 the developer hinted at an 360 and Wii launch as well, due to the PS3 high price point.

Let's hope CAPCOM give us some Street Fighter games via the VC like they are doing with Xbox Live Arcade
