Thanks to Japanese website Nintendo Inside, we can reveal that despite Square Enix's original projection of 350,000 sales for Final Fantasy III on the DS in its first week, sales tracker Enterbrain is reporting that the game has now reached the 500,000 mark, clearly showing that the RPG heavyweight managed to get even more stock onto shop shelves after seeing the demand on Day One!
Not only that, but user feedback on the game has been extremely high, which in Japan generally means that a title will have good staying power, meaning that FFIII could actually hit a million with ease and perhaps even top the original NES version's sales (around 1.4 million in Japan).
