It's good to see a wonderful looking game like FFIII selling so well, but i'm relieved that Rune Factory is selling wonderful too. I think it's wonderful looking game. Or so it seems. it's a bit away from the main stream you know (yes, it's Harvest Moon, but it's an RPG)...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Always glad to see RPGs doing so well Smilie

Woooooooo!!!

I am very glad that the Rune Factory got some deserved sales, many reviews have stated that it is just as good as FF3, although all in all brilliant for all 3 games thought Mario would maybe be around 80k but who we kidding it will crack 3m next week, something nearly all FF could only dream of

The top 8 are pretty much confirmed and let's just hope that one of the following DS games can fill in the last two places, to make a Nintendo clean, or even a DS clean sweep.

Go Nintendo!!!!

1. NDS Final Fantasy III - 503,051 / NEW
2. NDS NEW Super Mario Bros. - 65,556 / 2,901,264
3. NDS Rune Factory New Harvest Moon - 42.210 / NEW
4. NDS Brain Age 2 - 41,784 / 3,073,195
5. NDS Cooking Navi - 37,326 / 384,045
6. NDS Tamagotch 2 - 30,504 / 430,933
7. NDS Mario Basketball 3on3 - 30,355 / 233,762
8. NDS Animal Crossing WW - 30,023 / 3,149,131
9.

... #9/10:

Tetris (last week: 26,800)
and/or
Brain Age (last week: 25,100)
and/or
Mario Kart DS (last week: 21,800)

Top 8 DS titles jeeze Nintendo are domanating they just can't seem to put a foot wrong at the moment. I think Square Enix will be happy with how many copy's were sold, I can't wait to see how many DS/Lites were sold and with pokemon on the way it looks like this has been Nintendo's year.

It would be brilliant to come Christmas see a top 10 filled with nothing but DS and Wii titles.

As for this week's chart, i guarantee some PS2 game will end up spoiling the complete chart domination

Oh ff3 did very nice. Could we see more FF games on the ds i sure hope so maybe FF7 maybe. I cant wait for the game to come out in the US so i can get it. But another week of ds domiance super.

come on square..give us more ds love Smilie

*Looks at comments* Damn you Ashcroft Smilie

Anyway, I'm seriously hoping Tingle and the Mech game do well next week as well. Also, Square Enix has DQM: Joker and the Chocobo game in the pipeline...plus the distant Crystal Chronicles. But what about other non-DQ/FF franchises? Another Mana title? Working with Nintendo on Super Mario RPG 2? I'd love to see Chrono return...

Games I get excited by the most these days are new IP's. So I'd rather have that than a sequel to one of those games in franchises you mentioned.
Of course, those new games do have to be excellent enough for me to warrant a purchase. I'm really hoping Contact will be fantastic, but the video's I saw of the battles in that game didn't exactly inspire me to make a trip to the gamestore in the coming months.(I have no idea when it will be released here actually)Smilie

Contact comes out in Europe during October. It's highly rated, but apparently battles do indeed become tiring in places.

As for Square Enix, I'm hoping they do new stuff as well, to be honest - like Treasure Hunter G, Bahamut Lagoon, Romancing SaGa and Rudra's Treasure on the SNES (Square) and Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia/Time, Robotrek and Actraiser (again SNES, but from Enix).

Steals Raz's thunderSmilie

There is some debate as to where or not these numbers are true, at least over at neogaf, 163k seems low considering Nintendo did withhold stock last week for FF3 and the DSlite has sold more than this with there being no releases, still suspect about these numbers

Seeing Rune Factory up there at No.3 gives me a good feeling about how well Luminous Arc will do as well...

By the way, it may look like a major drop for Rhythm Tengoku out of the Top Ten from last week, but it's because of stock shortages. Nintendo SERIOUSLY underestimated the demand for the game...
