Industry News | Rising Star Advertising Deal

By Adam Riley 10.10.2006 9

Rising Star Games has today announced a deal with the C4 iconic TV brand POPWORLD to publicise and actively market Rising Star Games titles for the next three months.

The tie-in sees POPWORLD include Rising Star Games promotional content on its website, which delivers over 10 million hits a month. Website content will include editorial pieces updated on a weekly basis, complemented by a host of interactive branding and advertising content. Rising Star Games will also be communicating directly with consumers through Popworld's rapidly growing database (currently over 200,000 members), who receive regular interactive emails.

Viewer competitions will also form part of the campaign, as will a major presence on POPWORLD's brand new radio show on www.channel4radio.com

Martin Defries, C.O.O., Rising Star Games: "This deal with Popworld is hugely significant for Rising Star Games. We want to engage our audience directly and this campaign is about as direct as you can get. We're a young, dynamic publisher and Popworld's incredible reach is perfect for informing the videogamers we're publishing titles for."

Martin Lowde CEO at Popworld Ltd commented, "It is great to be working with Rising Star Games, their multimedia approach to marketing and exciting inventory of games is a perfect partner for Popworld. Since spring this year, we have been delivering entertainment across media platforms and are now able to offer advertisers tailor-made and highly effective campaigns."

The deal began on the 1st October and runs through to the new year.

Well Channel 4 is the best of the normal channels imo. They just seem to keep it all nice and fresh. Good news programme too. I like how it is always them that gets the leaked document from the latest Government scandal. Smilie

Woooooooo!!!

Rising Star publish games in Europe that wouldn't otherwise make it to Europe am I right? They're a collaboration between a Japanese publisher and the company that distributes Nintendo stuff in Scandanavia. I think there was some news about Codemasters distributing for Rising Star in the UK now.

Rising Star are the sort of publisher we WANT.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

They have already released Space Invaders Revolution, Bubble Bobble Revolution, Rainbow Islands Revolution and Lunar Genesis.

They have (this year): Contact, Ys Strategy, New Zealand Story Revolution, Harvest Moon DS and Harvest Moon Magical Melody (last two being distributed by Nintendo, not Codemasters).

You'd think that, but if all they've released so far are Bubble Bobble and Harvest Moon games I'm not too impressed...

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society
