Nintendo Rumour | Wii-Specific Version of The Sims?

The latest batch of rumours from US publication EGM have now been revealed from the November 2006 edition's dedicated column.

They are as follows:

  • Despite earlier rumours of a Virtua Cop game on Wii, an FPS spin-off will likely come to the PlayStation 3.
  • Road Rash and Desert Strike are heading to the next generation of consoles in the near future;
  • Microsoft is trying to coax Blizzard into making World of Warcraft an XBOX 360-exclusive for the console scene, by creating a keyboard peripheral for the system;
  • Electronic Arts is working on a Wii-specific version of The Sims;
  • 2K is developing an unlicensed football game (American football or soccer, unspecified, although likely to be the former);
  • Harmonix (recently bought by MTV) is to make a new music game that features multiple instruments and has online capabilities;
  • A sequel to The Godfather is currently in progress;
  • Next year the PSP will see remakes of Final Fantasy I-VI, although it is not clear whether this will be one large package or separate releases.
  • Also it was revealed that Team Ninja's DS project does not necessarily rely heavily on the touch-screen.

    Coax as in throw lots of money at them.

    I think that the Godfather next title will depend on how well the first will do on the Wii, if we have any chance of getting the second game.

    Virtua Cop on the PS3 would suck balls it would be brilliant on the Wii

    Forgive me for being selfish, but I do not like Final Fantasy to come to the PSP. I think they will look much better on PSP and I do not want that!

    I am an evil bastard!

    I find your lack of faith disturbing!

    With the final fantsies, will they be making them into 3D, or just use gba type graphics?

    And FF 6 games for one console in a year is huge.

    It would totally undermine the GBA editions wouldn't it?
    I think it's false or at least a Japan exclusive.

    If true, come on Sega, get your finger out. If Wii is a "casual/simple machine" then Virtual Cop would be perfect, even a fully blown FPS spinoff would suit the Wii, *sigh*.

    Sega, stop giving Nintendo shitty games please.

    Desert Strike! OMG! if this comes out for Wii i'll jump for joy. If it comes out for PS3 OR XBOX 360 then it will be the only reason to own one of them.

    I dought Square will actualy remake FF1-VI again, again.
    More likely a port with purhapes an enhancement or extra.

    Sims for the Wii makes sense, and it wouldnt be too hard, so I go with "yes".
    It fits the Wii's intended casual/non-gamer market too.

    Purhapes some "Mii" intergration with the Sims would be nice.

    I'd be pretty pissed off with the PSP gettin FF1-6 in all honesty, and they are Ninty games anyway, so its kinda cheeky...as for the MS and Blizzard thing- I couldn't give a damn, because we all know that the DS is getting WoW at some point don't we Smilie

    As for Road Rash...well...I've never heard of it lol

    Road Rash is like t3h Sh1720r2!Smilie It's pretty fun, you race around on motor-cycles and have to kick and punch your opponents off of their cycles while trying to get to the finish lineSmilie
    I used to have it on the PS, but I sold the bastard.

    And Street Fighter 4 on Wii would be so sweet... BUT NOT 3D!Smilie! They totally fucked up when they went 3D on PS2! I just want beautifully animated sprites in the style of street fighter alpha... Those were gorgeous!Smilie

    I doubt Sony would re-create each Final Fantasy game (I-IV) for the PSP. They're just going to stuff all of them in one disc.

    I remember playing Road Rash yonks ago, I don't know, it's a bit of a "fun for the first few times" type game.

    Street Fighter series why to CAPCOM refuse to make a sequel

    Why do I often seem to post underneath you? Smilie

    Uh, I think Capcom have realised SF's potential in other areas (Capcom vs SNK, SF remakes etc) so doing a sequel might be...get this...TOO MUCH WORK!!1! SmilieSmilie OMGLOL KTHNX (Stolen from Superlink, Smilie)

    Street Fighter 4 is l-o-n-g rumoured now...so who knows, perhaps it'll be Wii-bound!

    As for a Wii-specific Sims, it certainly makes sense since Will Wright is such a big Nintendo fan. That's why The Urbz was churned out for the DS launch, simply because of his love for Nintendo!
