By Jorge Ba-oh 27.10.2006 27

SNK have released some fresh footage from the upcoming Metal Slug collection on the Wii, demonstrating the various different control styles for players to use and the game in action.

The title, for both PSP and Wii, brings together 10 years of Metal Slug history from the original up until this year's version, Metal Slug 6 for arcade and PS2.

Now THAT is what developers should be doing with the Wii...actually using the controller properly, rather than just for gimmick manoeuvres.

Looks smooth! Should be a good addition to the Wii's launch line-up, certainly adds variety! Hopefully this will sell decently well so SNK will bring more...more!

I think tilting controller up (as in towards you) would be better for aiming up, when you tilt it away it feels more like youre moving it down, at least for me thats what that kinda thing feels more like.

Smilie wow really impressed by that, so many ways to play such a simple game!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

The tilting controle method looks really awkward but the rest seem pretty decent, i quite like the way they used the remote to emulate an arcade stick Smilie

This video give a perfect example of giving Wii gamers may options of controller configurations.

Tilt Wii-mote!! Just like back in the day...Looks like another $100 gone from my wallet!

*lol* great. They included 5 or more control schemes. Look there, Capcom, that's how it's made properly. That way even people with only a Wiimote can play Metal Slug properly. Ynd you know what? The game itself looks like a lot of plain old fun.

Maybe I'm getting this too? *thinks* Man, jb, you got me again! Buying another game! I'm poor already!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Maybe/Hopefully/Surely they'll put an invert option in. That shouldn't/wouldn't/mustn't be too hard. Smilie

I so want this game for the "tilt" gameplay!!!

Arcade is so cool to!!!Using the remote as a joystick!

Is it wrong to be in love with a game? I don't care. I NEED this game.

In all honesty, the non-motion based controls look the easiest to play with....I'm unsure whether to get this for christmas. It's between this or Marvel: Ultimate Alliance...

Looking good, i've played a Metal Slug on the GBA and it was brilliant. Might pick this up when it's out.

Nice, think I'll get Santa to order this one for me Smilie

Wow, until now it was just me who gave a shit about this.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Who knew my most anticipated launch title would be a 2D game, i love metal slug and i will surely be getting this title. The 'nunchuk only style' seems to fit my desire for control.

!

This game looks awesome!
If I get a Wii, this will be mine for sure.

I want to make a game like that...

But, Santa doesn't exist...Smilie

SNK are my new Gods. Every Wii game should have this many control schemes. I'm surprised they don't have the obvious 'point to aim' control scheme... That's probably the one I'd go for

Let's hope this won't be

Looks awsome. I think I've got most of the Metal Slug games on emulators, though.

It does include the new one (only out in Arcades and JAP PS2), so at ?40 it would still be a snip.
