Nintendo Wii Media | UK Zelda TV Advert

Posted by By (jb) 36 Number of reads 38030

Nintendo have recently begun their UK TV advertising blitz in preparation for the console's launch in Europe in a matter of days. Link and Zelda join the Wiimote action in the first Wii game commercial hitting prime time TV.

C3 reader Ben spotted the Hylian on various popular networks, including E4, Living TV and MTV - the home of many previous DS campaigns.

The video has hit the web, thanks to the folks over at N-Europe.

Update: Various other Wii game adverts can be found on the Wii TV page here.

Stay tuned for further media updates.

I say the end of it on RT

That's quite a bit better than the Wii adverts. Could be better, but still pretty nice.

Yeah, I did too. I think it was on ITV or Channel 4.

I'm kinda liking that music in the Zelda vid too.

..........Smilie i want it now.....
the ad looks great by the way!

Not bad, but it would have been so much better with less of the guy, and better sound editing.
(the music is just cropped horribly...and it should start from the go)

hopefully there will be a bigger, longer add.

Nothing wrong with this. The guy didn't ruin it and the rest was good. ALL GOODSmilie

Awwwww, they could have spared us the annoying guy on the sofa!

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Saw it at work, the thing is, i was actually not facing the Tv when the ad started but that familiar ringing in my ear made me turn around to see it was a Zelda advert.

Silence is the loudest noise we could possibly hear.

I'm amazed - there are a few of thease adverts - and they are all over TV, I've seen about 6 or 7 in the last two days! Top job, nint!

The dude on the sofa provides the "ay???" factor for people who know nothing about the Wii.

Good ad methinks.

Cubed3 Member

Could have been so much better:

I've had my TV on channel 4 behind me all morining. I've had about 12 360 adverts and a few Brain Training ones, but not a single Wii related one. Are they only on shit non-terrestrial channels or something?

Godness knows, I've not seen any Wii ads lately, a coupla 360 but mostly DS ads. No Wii for me. =/

EDIT: I've never seen that OoT ad before. XD It's great. =D SO much better than the Wii one.

Nintendo looking to penerate the irish video game market

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the cliché. They were the statement and the definition."

Will thou win the girl, or play like one?

Cubed3 Member

^ I guess they didn't have any intention of opening the market to girls when they were launching the N64.

Its a good advert. Wouldn't have put any sensible girls off. The controversial element would only help, too.
