Over on GamesIndustry.biz, there is a summary of what Nintendo of America's president, Reginald Fils-Aime, recently stated at the Reuters media Summit.
Fils-Aime stated the the company is presently working hard at producing enough Wii systems to meet demand and is definitely still heading towards the four million target by the year's end (31st December, not the fiscal year), with a strong possibility of that number being exceeded as "We will sell everything we make so now it's simply a manufacturing thing." He reiterated by saying beating the target would be "challenging based on manufacturing capacity".
However, there is not only the Wii and DS to think about, according to Reggie:
"We think that Game Boy Advance certainly has at least one more holiday season left in it. For us, it continues to be a great stepping stone for five, six, seven year-old consumers to have their first great handheld gaming experience and then transition right into DS. [ It has had ] just as good a selling season so far [ as the Nintendo DS ]."
According to him, there are still many more Third Party in the offing over the next nine months. Whether that means there are NO First or Second Party GBA games is unknown, though, meaning the chances of Mother 3 and Rhythm Tengoku being translated remain extremely slim, yet Final Fantasy V and VI should still make it to Europe.
