Following Reginal Fils-Aime's talk of Super Mario Galaxy possibly not coming until Christmas 2007 and how GoldenEye 007 not being ruled out on the Virtual Console, more information has been uncovered from the interview with MTV.
Reggie Fils-Aime talked about how translating the game was quite a risk, despite the success of the DS at the moment. However, he actually thought it would prove to be a bigger hit that it currently has been. He stated:
"I have to say I'm a little personally disappointed. The sales are strong and good. I personally thought it was going to be explosive. The consumers I've talked to who have it love it. But it's really [about] exposing it to consumers and letting them see how addictive this game is. [ However ] the developer has been fantastic to work with and our hope is maybe this could become a new franchise."
Adding to this, he mentioned that the game currently has sold through 120,000 units, although he thought sales would be as high as 300,000 in the US. But at least there is positive news in the form of him talking of a potential sequel...
