European Wii Launch: Video Report
James Temperton :: Friday December 8th 2006

The Wii is out in all the major regions of the gaming world now and no doubt most of you are already enjoying it. In the coming days we'll be bringing you review content of all the major and best launch titles and hopefully another launch report. Major Wii events were held across the continent for the midnight launch and we've got a ten minute video report covering Milan, London, Paris and Newcastle to give you a flavour of all the Wii goodness. We've also got interviews with Ian Wright, Pat Cash and Ricky Hatton for you in this extensive C3 report. Funky stuff...

Huge crowds, celebrities, bright lights and a huge amount of hype were all present as the Wii took Europe by storm. Initial sales reports for the continent are excellent and Nintendo are already hailing the launch a major success. Anyway, enough introduction. You can enjoy the video below in YouTube stream, or if you're a registered user and what a higher quality version for download, you can nab it from our servers and keep it for all eternity.

Swish video, but you forgot to mention anything that wasn't 210% positive to Nintendo, such as several major UK retailers like Comet not getting any stock at all.

Really impressive report James

How much of the footage was shot by C3?

IANC said:
Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

The end bit from GAME in Newcastle is ours, the rest is provided by Nintendo to the press. And yeah, it is positive, but amazingly enough they didn't release any footage of people complaining, which is a shame as that would be far more interesting than Ian Wright getting his words muddled up...

Between 47 seconds and the minute mark is what i shot from Gamestation birmingham. Shame tempo cut the end of the vid Smilie

Nobody wants to see that Flynnie Smilie Cheers for submitting the video though, very cool!

Heh, between me,you and Jb eh? Smilie

Great video, it was great to see the other parts of Europe as opposed to solely the UK launch as we've seen so far. Thanks guys!

Very nice, and nice to some other countries included. Also some great footage and the celebrity interviews were awesome. Hope to see more great stuff in the future from you guys.

Wow, the Newcastle footage I got feels so out of place... Heh ^_^;;

Why did nobody else get proper footage? =/

Cause other people have a life Phil...Smilie joke.

Great report there T Smilie

i saw the Milan video 2 days ago! and the paris one there ust of been a thousand people there... how long was that line.....Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562
