That's cool. =D Should be good, hope they keep the same control scheme as with TP.

It just wouldn't be a Zelda game without the delays. It's good to see there at work with the new Zelda game.

They should take at least 4 years over it, else it will hugely disapoint.

Unless...

4 Swords Wii anyone? ^_^

yeah thats true.. if Zelda doesnt have delays its not ZELDA!! Smilie

and they[nintendo] strarted working on TP soon as they finished on Wind Waker Smilie so this wont be out until 2010/11 Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Excellent (the delay is a bit crap, but...it's a Zelda game, afterall). Wonder what a Wii specific Zelda will be like...

PLEASE not another cel-shaded fiasco, Nintendo.

Didn't they say this Zelda will be the last of it's kind?

Just wonderful, I was SO looking forward to Phantom Hourglass early 07. Why can't Nintendo have a game ready by the time they say they will? Smilie

Well that just gives me time to build on my DS collection before PH.

As for a new Wii Zelda, it seems that TP is the apotheosis of the current Zelda model, which is why it's attracted such praise and also accusations of being a rehash. I'm hoping a new Zelda will once again completely redefine the game.

I'm sure Miyamoto and Anouma have some special ideas up their sleeves.

Can't wait to see how this'll turn out - Miyamoto did say this will be the last Zelda, as we know it..

Exactly why I think we're in for another OoT proportion shift in the Zelda franchise. Can't wait!

I hope that the final Wii game is somehow along the lines of previous/current GC/Wii Zelda games. I have a strange feeling that Nintendo could go so far down the 'oooh, look at our lovely controller' path that the back-end of the game steers too far away from the hack and slash adventure/puzzle concept that has worked so well with OOT and TP.

they will finally make LINK marry Princess Zelda and have super strong babies... and Link will be the King of Hyrule Smilie and a new hero will be born(Links 7th son)... and Ganon will die... but his son will take over! Smilie

It's a real shame about Phantom Hourglass, but we've got TP, one of the greatest Zeldas ever made, to keep us going 'till then right?

But great news about the Wii's Zelda! I HOPE it's not another 4 Swords, as it could end up being lame, I want a WHOLE NEW WAY to play Zelda games. I know I can trust Nintendo with this project.

I had forgotten about that actually. Interesting indeed...

Too bad about the DS game though.

That's what I heard too, meaning that hopefully they'll make a Zelda that goes perfectly with the Wii's control system, other than being an OoT-alike with Wii controls. Smilie

That'd be good as long as they don't over-do it. I mean, more 1 - 1 type controls would be quite cool (though it would mean more moving around for the more lazy out there) but if they try adding in too much they could end up ruining the game just for some frilly controls.

Hmm, I wouldn't mind a 4 swords type game bundled in (like with Link to the Past (was it?) on GBA.) but I wouldn't want that to be the main game.

Rubbish news about the DS version being pushed back... to be expected, but still irritating.

Its mind-boggling to imagine what a completely reworked Zelda might be like on an experimental system such as the Wii. As long as they don't go all kiddy on it again.

No don't even bother to answer that.
It just gives me a headache trying to think down to your level.

I've read interviews where Nintendo have said they like cel-Link and want to re-use the style, but could Phantom Hourglass be having a major stylistic overhaul to twin a new Wii Zelda?

Alternatively, because the cel-style quickens development, I'd imagine they're using the time to knock out a cel-shaded Wii game that links with the DS title in intimate ways...

Also, a quick warning. I think the link at the top contains a minor minor spoiler for TP. Almost nothing, just a name. I don't recognise it, but still. If you're being super-anal about not wanting to know anything, beware...

Less posty, more gamey.

I don't really want a new Cel game for Wii, thanks, connection is all well & good, sure, but Zelda isn't about connection, also it would do Nintendo good to keep the more mature image they have going with the Wii.

Celda = DS
Mature Zelda = Wii

It'd be no problem if Zelda games weren't such a big deal, but they really are, one every 4/5 years or sommet! Smilie

EDIT: Mario's a kinda bigger deal, but now I think about it, a Cel Mario game would look INCREDIBLE. Not to mention Sunshine looked kinda Celly at times anyway...

Who's to say this Zelda's not about connection? For all we know it could be all about connection.

Then it's crap Smilie

Zelda + Gimmick = Rubbish Smilie

EDIT: I know that PH & TP are "sorta" gimmicky, but in any case, they're Zelda games through & through. A Zelda game based on connection could end up (moderately) crap like 4 swords adventures, or annoyingly expensive like Crystal Chronicles.

Know what I mean? Not like Zelda...

Its probably one where you play as a fat Itailian plumber with fiery balls. (Ron Jeremy)

Personally I'd like to see Link age. Imagine a frail old disillusioned man sitting in a dark room, dreaming of his past glories, remembering his youth. No longer can he visit those distant lands or ride free over the plains. Epona is gone and his companions and friends have grown old and left him. It could be an interesting study; Link must face his own mortality, something never explored before because he's always been a child/young adult in every previous incarnation. Exploration is a thing of the past, and our hero dies alone with only his memories.

There's a story in there.

IMO, I think it'd be sad... Besides, on most Zelda games, Link ends up like a sort of god anyway, at least on OoT/MM anyway.

Isn't Link meant to age on Tp as the game progresses? Anyway, 18+ Rated Zelda game FTW!
