Wii Tour Report: Manchester
Adam Riley & Mike Mason:: Friday December 7th 2006

Already out in Europe, the Wii is continuing to tour the country at various venues, shopping malls and high streets up and down the country. Mike and Adam went along to the event in Manchester the day before the Wii launched to check out what was going on and to experience some last minute Wii hype. Read on to find out 'what went down' in Mancy town...

Mike Mason

7th December, the day before Wii launch. This was the day that I first got my hands on Nintendo's next generation console at the Manchester Wii Tour (well, aside a go on Call Of Duty 3 a week previously...), long after some other members of staff, being the jammy guys that they are. After they seemingly no-showed on the Manchester University Wii Tour date a day earlier (or at least, put it in an obscure place nobody would visit), it was time for me to experience first-hand what had everybody in such a buzz.

Well, after I found it, that is. I had the idea in my head that the set-up was going to be a lot bigger, and so, with the lovely Vikki in tow, I went trying to find it in larger areas of the Arndale Centre. Eventually, after a bit of scurrying about, we located it hidden behind the giant metallic Reebok football above GAME

Awww, no comments, this article looks all lonely! Well, I enjoyed it anyway. I don't know if the Wii tour is coming/came to Cardiff, if it did/does I haven't heard anything about it since it was a date on the original list. Very odd. Nice report guys and a pat on the back to me for coding it Smilie

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

Yeah, surprised that no others have really been commenting on the Wii Tour around the UK.

Anyone felt it to be rather lacking in oompf? The XBOX 360 tour that went round a month or so ago was really pushed, whilst this seems to just 'be' there. Dunno, maybe I'm being overly harsh...

I don't know seeing as that's the first I've heard of it. Smilie

Nice article, but I think the oomph as you say has been stolen by the launch itself, people are more interested in trying to play/purchase their own consoles I guess.

I agree, i'm only on here at the moment because my batteries are out in my Wii-mote. I just cant get off the console and it's definetly very addictive. Nice article though.
