With the DS in heavy demand Nintendo have confirmed the increase of the production numbers for the console to try and satisfy stock shortages occuring worldwide this holiday season.

According to NeoGAF, Nintendo president Iwata confirmed that production has increased from 2.2 million units per month to 2.5 million. With the console also hitting South Korea shortly, there's a need to keep units wrapped up and ready to hit stores worldwide.
