Nintendo Wii/DS Box Arts | Dragon Quest Swords, Heroes of Mana & Front Mission 1st

By Adam Riley 03.01.2007 11

Square Enix has revealed the latest artwork for the covers of their upcoming game releases, all of which can be found below:

If you look closely, you will see that despite earlier reports that the Brownie Brown-developed Heroes of Mana will not feature Wi-Fi support, it does in fact have the Wi-Fi logo on its box. However, the other reports of Front Mission 1st ditching online support appear to have been true.

As for the Dragon Quest Swords box, it has sparked much speculation because of its shape. Rather than the traditional vertical style box, this is instead horizontal, leading people to believe Nintendo is planning a special bundle for the game's release, perhaps even with a special Wii ready for its launch. This would certainly not be out of the question given the Crystal GameCube that hit Japan alongside Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and the fact that Children of Mana launched with the DS Lite in March 2006. Square Enix and Nintendo have close ties now, so anything is possible!

Hopefully we get DQ: Swords boxed like that. I want to buy it just cause it's horizontal.Aaah, N64 days. What a marketing strategy!

Seiken Densetsu 4 has the iconic Mana picture of the birds flying around the Mana Tree, trying to allude us to the fact that it'll be good like SoM. But from what I've seen Smilie

DQ swords box art is brilliant

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

I never knew the chocobo game featured any sort of online function.

That Chocobo cover is class. Wow.

Hope these games - Swords, Mana and Joker - rock. I want to play a good game from SE. Secret of Mana does not deliver long term motivation(?) and is lying around my place for years now.
What game is the lower right?

But they look good. Again Amano-san did some paintings for SE. He has a unique style. Check out the Front Mission 1st boxart. That's his doing.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!
