Today, January 4th, C3 celebrates its fourth birthday! Four years on and a lot has changed, the Gamecube has rushed off to console heaven and in its place sits an ickle white box sits in its place.
On this special day, here's what we feel has made four years of C3 for us:
"It's just so... bizarre how time flies so quickly. After many different layouts, changes, successes and problems C3 has grown and certainly surpassed its initial purpose.
Just over four years back I had developed C3 as a small site to house a few Gamecube fascias (the small center plate) designs along with a few reviews and news updates. Shortly after the site grew, who knows exactly how, but when regulars begun to spring up the site worked its way up the Nintendo site food-chain and on the way picking up a lovely community. During the four years, there have been some great moments - being able to play games in advance, meet industry and staff members, some fantastic, humorous forum discussion, launching new features and gaining a bunch of exclusives from the kind folk who make up the industry. I've had fun ripping the site apart and redeveloping, adding, fixing and doing the general technical who-ha.
A lot of what the site is made up from is from the kind heart of Nintendo gamers - our willing and talented staff I am most thankful for; their efforts are one of the major factors of what has made Cubed3. Our visitors, you guys, are the key to what keeps the site ticking - I've never met so many types of people from different backgrounds, ages and tastes. Aside from a weirdo or two, the community is what has driven the site forward.
It's strange how much the Internet has come along
