Nintendo Rumours | Kingdom Hearts Wii, Fire Emblem Bonus & More...

By Adam Riley 05.01.2007 24

A selection of rumours have appeared over in Japan on the 2ch forums that are just too juicy to ignore. So get ready to take them all with a hefty pinch of salt and read on below:

  • From Software is currently working on a first-person action RPG for Nintendo's Wii that will be in the vein of Kings Field;

  • Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn on Wii will come in two parts at the same time, the first being the original GC Fire Emblem, Path of Radiance, whilst the other is the new main game (a tactic done when the first SNES Fire Emblem was released);

  • The age-old rumour of NiGHTS appearing on Wii has reared its head once again, making you wonder if this one will ever actually come true;

  • Square Enix and Disney Interactive have agreed that the next iteration of the Kingdom Hearts franchise should appear on Nintendo consoles - something that would not be surprising given Disney's committment to Wii and Square Enix's strong relationship with Nintendo;

  • Bandai Namco's Sword of Legendia for Wii is set to be the first game in a new spin-off from the 'Tales of' RPGs, the 'Sword of' series.

  • Nintendo will release Animal Crossing Wii in 2007, complete with online gaming. In addition whether to include unlockable VC classics is undecided, but the Weather Channel will link up with the game so your weather is represented during play!

  • Capcom is planning a new Resident Evil for the DS, but not just a port of RE2 as previously believed, instead this rumour makes it sound like an RE Outbreak title.
  • So which do you think are the most likely and which would you actually like to see come true?

    EDIT: Oh my. I didn't realise these were rumours. That's quashed my spirits, then Smilie

    I'm really glad Square Enix and Nintendo have kissed and made up now Smilie

    I sure hope they're all true!

    Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

    It's possible they could all be true, but I think the Swords of Legendia one sounds most likely. I'd hoped it'd be a Wii remake of Tales of Legendia.

    I'm disgusted at the amount of Tales games exclusive to Sony! Smilie

    Very true superlink, psp alone, I think has about 4 tales games. Its really no fair, well lets hope for the best. Come on kindom hearts ^.^ *cheer*

    *heart attack* Kingdom Hearts on Wii. Now that would be great. I absolutely love these games, but played only part 1 before. Great combination of Final Fantasy and Disney I think!
    I would be nice when all rumours turned out to be true... *grin* I take the lot!

    I find your lack of faith disturbing!

    well what games are From Software working on now?

    I think the Kingdom Hearts one will be true because the PS3 seems to be pushing away from the demographic that Kingdom Hearts would sell to.

    NiGHTS does seem very likely now with all the recent hype around it and Nintendo's strong relationship with SEGA

    Just added two more that are floating around at the moment. I'm not keen on posting so many baseless rumours, but couldn't resist just this one time...plus there's not much else newsworthy at the moment! Smilie

    I like the AC one about hooking up to the Weather Channel...it'll be the first time I've had use for that pointless thing!!

    As for the Capcom one, they'd be crazy to NOT do something new on the DS. The remakes just aren't cutting it...

    Kingdom Hearts on Wii = Happy Mii

    AC with weather function would be brilliant. So much so that you might watch the weather before playing the game!

    Or even, when its sunny outside your house you know its sunny in game etc... brilliant.

    I dont understand this.
    Does it mean that they are going to re-release Path of radiance as soon as Goddess of Dawn comes out?

    -Have you any idea what it's like to be a Fembot living in a Manbot's Manputer's world?
    -What?

    If all of these are true. Ps3 and Xbox360 will be ownedin the consol war. Go Nintendo!

    This guy is gonna get slaughtered her, but i like him Smilie

    Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

    *sounds like Rom from Deep Space Nine:* Oh, I would love Kingdom Hearts on Wii, brother!

    I find your lack of faith disturbing!

    Phew... I'm glad I wasn't the ONLY person to care about Fire Emblem again...

    It seems kinda shit/pointless to bundle them together to me... Especially if it forces you to complete PoR again before you get to play the new bits. I like Fire Emblem, but there are hardly any games that I coudl be bothered to play again, and FE certainly isn't one of them.

    It also makes me think that maybe the new game won't be very long, and they're trying to cover it up by shoving some old content in there... In any case it better not cost more than a normal game or something stupid like that

    Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

    i would think that kingdom hearts on the wii would have an awesome control sceme to add to the godness. long live nintendsquare!

    Signature

    I'd like for all of these things to come true, even the Fire Emblem one since I've yet to get PoR.

    And of course Kingdom Hearts for the Wii gets a big "C'MON, BABY NEEDS A NEW PAIR OF SHOES!!!" from me. Pleasepleasepleaseplease...

    I'll even take a side story arc that involves both S-E, Disney, AND Nintendo characters.

    Fire Emblem one would be awesome to come true i loved the first game would like to play it all over again, perhaps with more content or bonuses this time.

    The Disney Square Enix collaboration deciding to bring the the next Kingdom Hearts on Wii now that I do belive. Square-Enix are so "ga ga" for the DS at the moment and have openly stated that they want this Gen. to be an "even playing field so I'm sure SE will pull their finger out once they finish Crystal Chronicles.

    I So long as I see another Res. Evil game on the DS I'm not too fussed as DS has the power to reproduce all the original res games and Resident Evil 2 rocked

    and I think the nights rumour will eventually come true.......

    Considering the Wii is several times the power of the PS2, I think Kingdom Hearts 3 for Wii could be impressive. What would you do with the controller--make Mickey Mouse faces?

    Kingdom Hearts Wii should be an interesting addition to a lineup that is already confirmed to include High School Musical Wii.
