Nintendo DS News | Mario Vs Donkey Kong 2 Dated in Europe

By James Temperton 15.01.2007 10

Mario Vs Donkey Kong returns and makes its debut on the Nintendo DS. Featuring full touch-screen control, over 80 levels and full use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Mario Vs Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis will be launching across Europe on the 9th March 2007.

A whole barrage of Nintendo characters appear in the gaming, including Mario, Donkey Kong and Pauline. The plot is classic Nintendo; Donkey Kong, annoyed by Pauline's hankering for some Mini Mario instead of some Mini DK sparks controversy, which obviously leads to a kidnapping at the opening ceremony of Mario's new theme park - Super Mini Mario World. Rather unsurprisingly it is now up the Mini Mario's, on the orders of Mario, to head out and battle their way through a number of levels to reach the top floor of the theme park where Pauline is waiting to be rescued.

The simple touch screen controls guide the Mini Marios around the levels and you can also use the touch screen in a number of clever ways during the game. The most intriguing part is the use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Here, you will be able to battle against other human opponents on levels yo have created, as well as competing in levels created by others. Players can download levels from friends using the Friend Code system or from anyone around the world. A huge amount of exciting content awaits!

Took its time. Might pick this one up, sounds like pretty good fun and the reviews from the USA are pretty decent.

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

It does sound good, and the Wi-Fi addition is the cherry on top. I might also pick this up when it's released.

...whos pauline?

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

She was in Donkey Kong has the damsel in distress and Mario (The carpinter) had to save her. Then she was ditched for Princess Peach.

Got this game on import and it's pretty good although it's a liitle on the short side. The creation feature is not made the most of because you can only see your friends maps but nintendo do have there own entry that you can download extra levels from.

Finally! The GBA game was missed out on by too many people, hopefully with some proper advertising (and not advertising aimed at 2 year olds), this should get a bit more recognition. A shame the graphics haven't improved much.

The first one was pretty fun, but it had some flaws... I'm interested to see if this one improves on it at all

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Brilliant! I have been waiting for this one for a long time and finally we have some info on it. To be honest I don't actually know much about the game, but I have played the original and that was top stuff, so I can't see this one bieng any worse. Make this one a must buy for me as well.

i loved this game on the original gameboy, i spend ages on that game Smilie but i haven't be interested in the modern versions for some reason.
