Square-Enix has released a selection of screens from the upcoming DS Final Fantasy XII spin-off, Revenant Wings - including some gorgeous artwork and battle scenes. FFXII: Revenant Wings is an RPG for the DS featuring characters from Final Fantasy XII - 18 year old Vaan, an airship pilot and his younger female navigator, Penelo.

Additional media and updates can be found in our previous update, here.

More screens, courtesy to IT Media, can be found in the game's album below. Apologies for the lateness in posting these up.

Stay tuned for future updates on Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.

Lookin hot! Too bad I'm not really into that genre.

Looks nice! I still was kinda disappointed with Square not using the game engine for FF3 but im not the developer so I cant really comment... which therefore makes this quite irrelevant

I like this engine better, because graphics almost look like Bitmap with the sprites or models blending in nicely. It's almost never well made when having bitmap or detailed 3D-models and simplistic background, sometimes because of hardware limitations. These shots on the contrary look almost better then PSP - which delivers 'better looking graphics' imo. I like this very well, chek some screens with detailed background like the outside or the battle-screen in the temple. Detailed floor-patterns there. It may be as simplistic as FF III (which does look fantastic too!), but it looks better.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

I'm more looking forward to ring of fates because thats in proper 3D and I don't know....looking at proper 3D games on the DS just makes me go "wow"

EDIT: And is the yellow thing in the first screen chocobo!?!?!?Smilie

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

This game looks increasingly gorgeous - developers should take note of Square's efforts in their games!

I like the art style as well. It reminds me of the original FF Tactics and Vagrant Story.

I wonder how well you can change the camera though?

Precisely Square can get more out of the DS than Ubi can get out of the Wii.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Nowadays it's seems that Square-Enix are totally ga ga for all things Nintendo especially on the handheld front. I look forward to seeing them bring more of their product to the Wii and maybe a new and exclusive IP for Wii outside the Final Fantasy Series.

Developers should take careful note of Sqaure's attention to detail and dedication when it comes to making games for ALL console platforms.

It looks amazing, but i'm still not sold on the 'Gambit' system which they're supposedly continuing from FFXII. Too early to judge though.

You think you've got problems.
What are you supposed to do if you are a manically depressed robot?
No don't even bother to answer that.
It just gives me a headache trying to think down to your level.
