Nintendo Media | Fresh Heatseeker Screens (Wii)

By Jorge Ba-oh 04.02.2007 33

Codemasters has revealed several screens from the upcoming Heatseeker game for Wii, one of the first action titles taking place high in the skies. The shots, courtesy of NGCFrance, seem far better than the previous set that had been rediculed by the general gaming public.

Stick around for future media updates..

oooh it looks awsome!!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Hmm, fast paced balls to the wall plane shooter sounds like fun to me.

Certainly looks a bit better than before, but still fairly shitty. The second screen is bearable.

The problem is that most of the screens out are PS2/PSP screens, with the exception of these. The Wii screens DO look better, but only just.

Would it not be better if Codemasters didn't release these screens.

Suppose it's Codemasters, what were we expecting.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Are codemasters developing this or just publishing?

Codies do usually put lots of effort into graphics with multiplatform titles.

Anyway, these do indeed look better, but there's still a lack of lighting on the planes....they look like cardboard cut-outs.

Lovely Jubbly, it's looking even nicer than before. I haven't bought a decent flight simulator game in ages. Well it's not a flight sim, but I don't have a clue what you call them. It's one of those games were you don't know how it's going to turn out. It's a bit like Red Steel. It looks decent enough on in the media, but once you play the final release it was a complete disaster.

Still might be worth a buy. I think it looks good in my opinion.

I think those images suck. They look like something between ps1 and ps2. Yuck.

The Wii must be able to do better than that tripe.

Another developer that needs a good telling off.

Woooooooo!!!

Well that means you must think Battalion Wars 2, Red Steel and many other Wii games look crap. In my opinion it looks fairly decent.

Explain why it looks crap?

Red Steel wasn't a complete disaster. Did you play more than an hour of it?

Very much so, I've played about 3 hours of it and the sword fighting is what made it a complete disaster. Seriously I've been playing games from the age of 4. I know how a good game works and plays and I have also learn't games are not about the looks.

Is this another situation like Metroid Prime Hunters though, where you couldn't grasp the controls and then denounced it as rubbish? I'd never argue that it's a great game, but everybody seems to complain about its controls when they're actually pretty decent once you're used to them. I can't see how sword fighting would make it a complete disaster considering it plays such a small role in the game compared to the gun play - how many of the sword moves did you learn?

And if we're bringing in how long we've been playing games - 19 years.

Smilie END OF!

I wish I'd seen before the edit. Smilie

Well red Steel does look crap. Especially in multiplayer mode.

But to answer about his game, I think the colours look rather dull. I am just giving my impression from the pictures. Will have to wait for a vieo to see if it is any better. Maybe the animation is top notch or gameplay. I won't give a final opinion till then. I just think they look a bit boring at the moment.

Woooooooo!!!

Like I have said before on another thread. If you watch the video you'll see some great lighting effects pop up from the game, which can't be seen in the images.

Hello.... anyone in there? you didn't even read my post properly. Read it agian and you'll see why there are no lighting effects in the IMAGES

Why shouldn't there be lighting in the images? >_>

Lighting is more than fire you know.

Why has everybody got it in for me at C3. All i'm stating is the truth, what else can I say? I'm not going to lie just because everyone else thinks it's naff graphics and it looks the same in the videos of the game.

This is getting ridiculous.

The only reason people "have it in for you" is because you're making stupid comments. I agree, it looks kinda nice, but to try and pretend that they're really good is ridiculous.

Don't confuse disagreement with what you're saying with people having it in for you...

I never said they were "really good". All I have said is that they look fairly good and they are not that bad. I don't make stupid comments at all. I could easily say that your comments are stupid for slating the graphics of this fairly nice looking game.

I watched the videos on Gamespot Marzy and I am still not overly fussed. I doubt this will have online play either so it will probably be boring quite quickly I imagine.
