UK Chart Highlights XCIV
...Nintendo & Sony Slide Down, Microsoft Takes Advantage

Your weekly UK Chart Round-Up brought to you by stat-man jesusraz. Remember, the images here do not reflect actual sales!

Wii dribbles downward...

Sadly the demand for the Wii is currently so high that Nintendo is having trouble supplying a constant batch of systems to the market, not just in the UK but around the entire world. With the innovative console doubling sales of the PS3 in the US and still tracking over three times that of Sony's powerhouse platform in Japan, it really is no wonder stock is drying up. But obviously that means we are in for one of those weeks where everything dips...

Midway Battles On...

The All Price Top 40 sees the ridiculous Little Britain game jump from No.14 to No.2, Sega's MegaDrive Collection dip one to No.5, Brain Training rebound seven to No.14, Wii Play plummet from No.7 to No.27, Zoo Tycoon DS fall ten to No.38 and Big Brain Academy slip five to No.40. The Full Price Only Top 40 sees another Xbox 360 game top the chart as Eidos' Battlestations: Midway claims No.1, ahead of PES6 and FIFA 07, both of which stick where they are, whilst Lost Planet drops three to No.4. New Super Mario Bros. dips just a place to No.7, Avatar enters in at No.9 from THQ, Capcom's Okami on PS2 enters at No.12 (No.1 on the PS2 Top 20, showing Sony's system is losing some strength in the UK) and poor WarioWare: Smooth Moves collapses from No.4 to No.15.

Zelda is also hit hard, dropping eight to No.18, but the DS is back on the up, as Lab & Friends leaps from No.33 to No.19, Dalmatian & Friends is up five to No.21, Animal Crossing only slips three to No.23 and Starfox Command drops eight to No.25. Surprisingly The Sims: Life Stories only enters this week at No.26 (in a 'low' sense), but equally surprising (in a 'way too high' sense) is the fact that Pawly Pets: My Vet Practice is in at No.28 on DS and its brother, My Pet Hotel is in at No.31! Mario Kart DS climbs two to No.32, Medal of Honour Heroes on PSP (No.4 on the PSP Top 20) is back at No.37 and Red Steel finishes off the Top 40, falling from No.25 to No.40.

And now onto the latest Wii Top 10, here in full list format (subject to copyright conditions):

1.) WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Nintendo)
2.) Wii Play (Nintendo)
3.) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo)
4.) Red Steel (Ubisoft)
5.) Rayman Raving Rabbids (Ubisoft)
6.) Rampage: Total Destruction (Midway)
7.) Call of Duty 3 (Activision)
8.) Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Sega)
9.) Avatar: The Legend of Aang (THQ)
10.) Need for Speed: Carbon (Electronic Arts)

With sales dropping quite heavily this week, you would expect some major movement, yet the entire top five remains the same, with WarioWare at No.1 again, Wii Play, then Zelda, Red Steel and Rayman at No.5. New in this week is Midway's first entry into the Top 10, as Happy Feet never made the chart

The Wii the seems to have one great week then take a dip then shoot back up again. The quicker Nintendo resolves the shortage issue the better but i fear Nintendo are holding back shipments because the PS3 is out in both of the other two big regions and is yet to be released in Europe.

Dissapointed that PES didn't make the Top 20, i am just praying that KONAMI give us yearly updates of Pro Evo.

Excite Truck next week, hope it cracks the Top 10.

Who are all these loosers buying the fecking little britain game? I blame the Labour party.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

most uk gamers are gay idiots they buy the most shittest games

Nintendo really need to sort out the Yoshi's Island fiasco, been looking for months and eventually found a copy in TESCO's, so far it's great.

Nintendo Europe seemed to have seriously fucked up on the with Yoshi's Island shipments, suppose the same could be said for Children of Mana.

Game was the only shop in my town that is even trying to sell Okami.

WHSmiths, Woolworths, Choices, Argos, 2 Tescos - none of them had it.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Not sure what's going on with shipments of certain games. Last week GAME in Manchester got a new batch of Brain Training in, but also had copies of Magical Starsign and Children of Mana floating around. Really disappointed neither made the DS Top 20 Smilie

It really is very sad... I don't know anything about it, but a Little Britain game!?

Bet it'll do incredibly in America.

EDIT: It really is true, the incredible looking Okami is being overlooked more than a 2005 GC game (well..... maybe not THAT much)

At the end of a console's life though, the only retail store you can expect to sell it's new games are GameStation or GAME.

I know what you mean about Yoshi's Island 2, I got it a week after release, & I found it pretty easily, nowadays I don't see it around much.

Dunno what you mean about Children of Mana though, fairly easy to find.

'Cos the Americans love the British, they think we're adorable. Smilie

Dunno why, it's the kind of disgustingly overrated thing that takes over the whole world.

Like Harry Potter. Except that's not disgustingly overrated.

I'm not seeing many DS games lasting long on the shelves, aside from Mario bros, animal crossing, sonic and brain training it all disappears after about 2 weeks.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Yes. it was. ^^

God bless Harry.

Anyway, my Dad seemed to know about Little Britain around when it was first released, either it's aired in America, or he's just sharp with what's happening around the world. o.0;

The real scandal here is how the BBC treats games. Like shit basically.

This, Fightbox - need I say more?

Apparently the developers get treated like absolute shit with these games. Hardly any money, hardly any time, reputation ruined.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

If it was a bit less illegal I would personally go out and shoot every single person who payed money for the Little Britain game...

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

You'd basically be eradicating Britain off the face of the Earth, I bet the Queen loves the game & invites all her buds over to play it.

its probably soem old fucking twats.... and i blame the chavs!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562
