Nintendo Wii News | Ste Pickford: "Naked War would be perfect for Nintendo

Nintendo's new Wii system is meant to be tailored to providing a cheaper, easy to develop experience for developers, hopefully encouraging smaller teams to jump on-board due to decreased risks. With this in mind, Cubed3's Adam Riley quizzed veteran UK developer Ste Pickford on various subjects in a recently published interview, including that of supporting the Virtual Console with new content such as his team's (newly formed Zee-3) Naked War project that is currently available on PC. This was his response:

"Yes, it would be great to get a game on there. Naked War would be perfect for Nintendo's online service as well, as a messaging game like ours would go well with their concept of leaving your console permanently connected to the internet and feeding you new content overnight. Naked War would be fun with your own Mii characters in there as well!"

For the moment, though, unless Zee-3 is directly approached by Nintendo it seems the company is focused on its current PC project(s). If you feel strongly about seeing Zee-3 work on Wii or revive its old franchise 'Plok', then politely piece together your requests and direct them here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform.jsp.

The way I see it, considering a certain other website was able to move Nintendo into the path of Telltale Games, which lead to them hiring Wii developers for their team, I'm sure we could give Nintendo the push in this direction, no?

People, get sending nice messages to that Nintendo link in the story, please Smilie

Why does everyone make it plural?

Probably because of Advance Wars...

Everything's plural these days. You're not cool unless you're plural. People often add an S onto the end of my surname even

Because I'm cool

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

While we appreciate your opinion that this game would be great on the Wii, if the developer never submits the game for licensing, it will never become a reality.

If the company that developed the game is interested in having it developed for the Wii, they will need to contact Nintendo for further information.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.

I contacted Ste Pickford with that information, thanks Grumbler. Sadly I've not heard back from him...but then again he might be off to GDC in San Francisco. Who knows.

I actually replied to that one with something along the lines of:
I was implying that Nintendo should approach the Pickfords, stanger things have happened.

Because I like talking common sense with faceless companies that I know won't reply.Smilie
