UK Chart Highlights XCV
...ExciteTruck Lands on Nintendo Wii, Mario Slam Dunks on DS

Slow trickle of Wii...

There are reports floating around about the Wii losing its appeal or its 'novelty' (as certain websites keep screaming). What does not seem to be factored in is that Nintendo is still struggling to supply enough units around the world to actually meet the excessive demand, hence the reason for the slip in software last week. But will the situation have changed sufficiently to help ExciteTruck reach the dizzy heights that WarioWare previously reached?

ExciteTruck stalls in first gear...

Starting off with the Top 40 All Price chart, Little Britain slips three to No.5, Sega MegaDrive Collection drops four to No.9, Brain Training moves up one to No.13, Wii Play is down four to No.31 and Zoo Tycoon sticks at No.38. As for the main Full Price Top 40 All Format list, FIFA climbs back up two to grab No.1 and Need for Speed: Carbon is up three to No.2 as last week's No.1, Battlestations: Midway on 360 and PC falls to No.7, with Lost Planet on 360 down four to No.8. Supreme Commander from THQ is new in at No.4, Avatar jumps four to No.5, Mario on DS slips just two to No.9 and last week's slow starter, The Sims: Life Stories, claws its way up twelve to No.14, just ahead of non-mover WarioWare at No.15. The nintendogs craze is back once again, with Dalmatian up four to No.17 and Labrador up one to No.18, whilst Sega's movie tie-in Charlotte's Web enters new at No.19 mainly thanks to a strong DS performance.

Talking of DS, Animal Crossing shimmies its way back up three to No.20 and on the Wii-front there is Zelda dropping three to No.21 and ExciteTruck entering in at No.22

3rd place Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Exitetruck is garbage. Give me a sequel with more levels!!

Those poor fools buying Wii play... I don't know if I should Smilie or Smilie

Do Backbone Entertainment and Microsoft (the makers of Zoo Tycoon DS, yeah?) buy their own game in the vein hope that people'll notice it in the top 40 and think it must be good?

:/

In a month time Animal Crossing will have stayed an entire year in the UK top 40 (in fact i don't think it has been below no.30).

Some achievement, has any game had the sort of staying power?

Quite a dissapointed with Excite Truck and Mario Basketball sales, but i have feeling both will do better next week.

Looks like God Hand absolutely bombed, doesn't even appear in the PS2 top 20.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Didn't realise God Hand had been released! And yes, Animal Crossing will be the first Nintendo game to achieve such a feat in goodness knows when...but will soon be followed by Brain Training and New Super Mario Bros., no doubt!

The Simpsons Hit & Run managed three or four years in a row on the Top 40...strangely enough! And I wouldn't be surprised if GTA III managed at least a year on as well.

Very disappointing about God Hand, it's a fun game. Tough, but fun.

Whaaaaat!? I didn't expect that... I mean it has a guy getting punched in the face on the front cover! And he has URBAN tattoos! I thought all the chavs would have snapped it up...
