Well I won't be buying it, but it certainly looks much nicer visually than past iterations.

Looks pretty good, I'll probably end up getting it anyway, good ol' Mario Party. It really needs to expand though. There's plenty of room on a DVD/dual layer, so there really needs to be a lot more mini-games, more boards and online features.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Oh, the mediocrity.

Looks quite nice Smilie

Along with what Mike also said, I doubt I'll be buying this. I've had enough fun out of Wario Ware and Wii Sports and when there are more serious AA and AAA titles coming out over the next year, nothing makes me really want to buy this. Its a shame they aren't using the mic, anyway Smilie

Looks cac, with the possible exception of the 1st screen.

Hope it plays better.

I'll be interested in seeing how they use the Wiimote for mini-games, but it definitely isn't on my radar for when I get a Wii.

OMG, another Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade game!?!?! Smilie Needs a Grail drinking mini-game...

I was playing the original at a stupid time in the morning not too long ago- GREAT FUN!

it looks preety good!! Smilie cant wait to see some gameplay!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

I've just noticed that the last picture is luigi's mansion. Anyway it's not looking bad so far and might be worth picking up.

Can't wait for this game to come out. Mario Party games were getting incredibly samey, but this should add something new to the franchise ^^ Wario Ware shows how much a difference the Wii Remote can (and should) make to games, I just hope Mario Party follows suit =)

Not me then. You'd think that, by the time they got to the eighth sequel, they would realise that either some drastic changes were in order (and abusing the Wiimote in minigames doesn't count) or that the series really isn't very good. A revolution would be needed to make me buy it, but does anyone else think that Hudson will be convinced that adding Wii control is the only major change necessary?

Screwing the rules since 1989.

Ha, i have never played a Mario Party game before, in fact i have not even seen footage of one, it has never really interested me at all, but the fact that there are now 8 must mean they hold some draw. LS

Oh god this game is going to be mean!

When I get my Wii this will be one of the first games I get. I am quite fond of the Mario Party games.

The first screen is really nice, do I see normal mapped terrain?

I think I'll get this when the inevitable Mario Party 9 comes out. I'll see if 9 has twice the mini-games or just the same number of different games. If the latter, then 8 will be cheaper and just as much fun.

Mario Party is a great game to play when you have friends. Especially with people who don't play games a whole lot.

This Mario Party is a totally different story, I mean it will very much more enjoyable with the Wii controller. The Wii controller was made for this game, plus Mario Party games are always fun, I just don't know why there is so many of them.

I've never played the "mario party" series, they was just another idea that spawned into more

Why would they change the formula if people keep buying it anyway? And how does having 7 sequels make the series crap? I don't think a 'change is necessary' but the Wiimote will add something new to the franchise. This game is already on my Wii list.

Well, if it isn't my mortal foe! (See other thread.)

You are, of course, correct - Hudson see no need to change a winning formula. They see no reason to revise the slow board game mechanic, get rid of the minigames in which people win entirely at random or make drastic changes to make the games appeal to those who have some of the prequels. And that is what annoys me.

I could be wrong, of course - I can acknowledge that. this game could be the funniest thing since the 1998 Ferret Dancing Championship ended up with three participants being neutered, and a great step up from 5 (the last Party I purchased). I'll reserve judgement for now, and wait until I can see a review.

Having many sequels doesn't mean it is not crap. But I disagree, Mario Party series is good as far I am concerned. It is an awsome party game, I think it is a very rehashed series though. But thats why the Wimmote will be good for it.
