The latest batch of news from various Japanese publications has been revealed, thanks to the folk over at NeoGAF, with morsels about Kingdom Hearts, Wii support and Famitsu review scores.
First up is confirmation that Capcom is bringing a new Devil Kings to Nintendo's Wii this year, under the Japanese name of 'Sengoku Basara 2: Eiyuu Gaiden'. With the original PS2 game doing so well in Europe, Cubed3 certainly has high hopes for this Wii version to be translated as well.
Next is some Square Enix morsels of information, starting with a revelation that the PlayStation 3 project 'Final Fantasy XIII Versus' is currently being worked on by the Kingdom Hearts team (which is also wrapping up It's a Wonderful World on DS at the moment - preview here). Therefore, Tetsuya Nomura has stated no new Kingdom Hearts game will be coming until the PS3 title is completed. However, a new Kingdom Hearts game will actually be 'announced' shortly after the summer period. Could something similar to Chain of Memories be heading to the DS or Wii as previous rumours have suggested? We will simply have to wait and see...But the company does have its 'Square Enix Party 2007' event scheduled for 12th-13th May, 2007, so who knows what treats we will find there.
In other Square Enix news, whilst talking about how the PSP port of Final Fantasy Tactics from the PSone will feature nothing new, nor any voice work (even in FMV sequences!), it was mentioned that details of the DS project 'Final Fantasy Tactics A2' will be unveiled in the very near future. As for the company's latest Mana game, Heroes of Mana, which launches on 8th March, 2007 in Japan, there is a (Japanese) Q & A session over at the official site. The game itself has just scored a very pleasing 32/40 in Famitsu (as can be seen in the reviews below), although this is lower than the 36/40 Children of Mana received.
