By Adam Riley 06.03.2007 13

Hudson Soft's Bomberman games have been rather hit and miss over the past decade, but in recent times the company has gone back to its roots to up the quality once more. But does this Wii version fall into the 'good' category? Check out some screenshots of the game that hits Japan this coming Thursday, 8th March and let us know below:

Looks awful. Bomberman is a game, not a character. Hudson doesn't seem to realise this, and they get far too ambitious.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

WTF??? Another Mario Party game? Jesus how many of these do we need??? We just want the OLD bomberman back! Actually I just want a TRUE sequel to Super Bomberman which was far superior to w/e the rest of the bomberman is supposed to be.

sorry, Bomberman?

I dont see Bomberman here :-/

Let's go back to Bomberman 2 and 5 on the good old SNES ...

Sigh.. Bomberman is just not as good as it use to be. At least it's not bad as the 360 version LOL.

So.... can they release this game without it having the classic multiplayer? Are they allowed to? Smilie

I know what you mean, but Bomberman is the main character. I guess that makes this game a spin off.

I don't think the reviews have been *too* bad. Wasn't it in Famitsu recently?

Doubt it'll get here anyway.

What annoys me is theres so much more they can do with the bomberman "normal" game;

eg.
*Have a single player mode thats one massive, interconnected traditional bomb-map.

*Challange Mode that has seperate bomb courses, but particular requirements.

*Multiplayer modes by the dozens, maps activated in single player, online, ect.

* MAP EDITORS. Must.

Seriously.
Take the traditional Bomberman formular and give us EVERYTHING out of it.
Push it to its limits, give us something that has everything possible within that basic 2D gameplay.

It would still probably cost less to develop then this.

Looks crap, what is this about anyway!?!? It kinda looks like a party game!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Folks, as bad as it may appear, don't forget to check the other screens in the media folder, such as this one:

The visuals are looking pretty slick and smooth, kinda like Pokemon Battle Revolutions. Can't say I'm much a fan of the series myself, it the kind of game that gets a little repetative over a while.

There is one way to make a good Bomberman game - stick him in a maze for a four-player bomb frenzy. Anything else involving the square-headed one (well, almost) does not work.

The trouble is, having created the aforementioned game, how do you improve on it? And the answer is, 'make it online'. Come on, Hudson...

Screwing the rules since 1989.

WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE BOMBS!?!?

Ugh...

Ewwwww, looks piggin.
