EA and Steven Spielberg previously announced a partnership to bring the creative director's vision into video game projects. EA Los Angeles VP and General Manager Neil Young recently spoke on these heading for Nintendo's Wii.

A snippet of the transcript from GameDaily reveals interesting tidbits on the upcoming games..

Neil Young: There's also the Steven Spielberg projects we're working on. We have things we haven't really talked about but are, uh, they have a broad appeal in their nature.

GameDaily: We met with you back at E3 to talk about Spielberg and the projects, but is there anything we can talk about, any more details that have developed since the projects were first announced?

Neil Young: I can't really share any game details, but recall our original announcements was for three projects. Well, two of those are underway right now in the studio.

The first one, what I can tell you is what you'd expect, sort of, from a Steven Spielberg production. Steven's stories are intimate stories that take place around huge, world-changing events... sort of, big stories shown through the eyes of a small group. Doug Church is producing it...

The second project is something Lou Castle is producing, one of the great producers in this industry, and that's one of the products we're building for the Wii. Very exciting and interesting...

Wasn't there something here on this before? Anyways, it would be intresting to see a non-Star Wars game with the same story styling. Though I'm pretty sure I wasn't too keen of the idea before, oh well.

You know... In the past Big names seldom came with good games. With EA involved, I think that is the case here too. Make an average game (as all EA-titles are average with no innovations whatsoever and no more then games worth a rating of 70, pepped up with a bit of cash leaving another this-or-that-clone ending up with a rating of 80-85 because of the name EA and again-another-yawning-gaming-principle like CoH or Madden 87928743.
I do not expect anything good from this. I do like Spielberg, though.
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Too true. Movie license almost always = complete rubbish. SO why should a computer game with a director at the helm be any different?

    Screwing the rules since 1989.

Sounds interesting and it will be a curiosity if nothing else.

As for this Spielberg and Polanski debate. Well I have to say I prefer Spielberg but Park Chan-Wook and Kim Ki-Duk destroy them both.

Because of being a watered down or spin-off title from the film made for a quick cash-in, it'll actually be an original project directed by him personally.

I'll have to disagree with you there, although sports titles generally fall into that category, until the Wii there hasn't been much they can do differently as a lot of it's been done before, although adding puck control to analogue sticks in NHL was apparently practically a Godsend, they actually do pretty well overall in games front despite this bad reputation they've got (Crysis is an EA game ffs), and given the chance do try and do something different, as efforts on Wii have shown (Madden, Godfather, Tiger Woods and SSX Blur)
