In something that is not too surprising at all, considering rampant rumours, EA has announced that Boogie, a rhythm game, will be coming exclusively to Nintendo's Wii. This brand new intellectual property is being worked on by EA Montreal and is set for a 2007 release around the world. It is being classed as a unique music/rhythm-based game that takes advantage of the innovative Wii controls to get gamers off their couch, playing and dancing to a new beat.

"We're creating something new and different for gamers of all ages to enjoy; the complete party package where gamers can dance as well as sing. Nintendo's Wii is an amazing console that really gives us a platform to be creative and to re-think traditional game development."
- Alain Tascan, Vice President and General Manager, EA Montreal.

Boogie will have gamers dancing, singing and starring in their own music videos. Players can also choose and customise different characters in the game to best show off their dancing style and karaoke skills. With supposed innovative gameplay that perfectly matches the unique Wii controls, Boogie is looking like a fun videogame party package and follows in the footsteps of EA Montreal's other Wii exclusive, SSX Blur.

Stay tuned for further updates...

EA Montreal seem like they have big things ahead of them.

Nice to hear of exclusives, and the singing part pretty much confirms recent rumours of a wii mic (High school musical apparently using a mic, along with a few other games pretty much suggested that before).

If we're dancing with the nunchuck how do we sing with a Mic, where does it plug in? maybe its bluetooth.

Wow this sounds so fun, imagine using the guitar hero's thing with this kit in a music video?SmilieSmilieSmilie

Enoch Powell was right, and you know it.

Oooh eeer. I love the rhythm aspects of Rayman Raving Rabbids, so hopefully this can take that and make it even better. Certainly looks like a good idea for a game, good on EA for doing something original for the system once again.

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

Looks silly.

Graphics aren't too bad though, I hope it's decent.

What's the craic with all these Rhythm games?

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

looks okayish.... it seems from that screen that we dont have to use the wii-mote... only the nun-chuck Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

I like the looks of it, but I want to learn more about it! Nice to see another exclusive effort from EA.

Looks very silly, but that's a good thing XD It's part of its charm. I'm very interested in how this game is going to work. I'd like it to be similar to that boss in Wario Ware Smilie that was cool, you can't help but dance Smilie

How are we supposed to sing? Could Nintendo be in the works of a wireless mic of some sort? There is another game coming out that uses a mic...*cough* High School Musical...

Looks good, admitedly not something I would expect from EA
