Nintendo DS News | Square Enix Exclusive Mana Comes to US

By Adam Riley 26.03.2007 7

Following the release of Heroes of Mana in Japan on 8th March, where it has failed to set the charts on fire, Square Enix has today announced that the excellent real-time strategy game developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS is scheduled to arrive in late summer 2007. This entry in the World of Mana series continue the legacy of the Mana name, as it provides a fresh and unique take on the familiar universe that has already garnered many fans around the world.

"The latest entries in the World of Mana series push the boundaries
established in past titles to provide players with a new gaming experience
inside a familiar setting. Heroes of Mana, a strategy RPG, introduces entirely new real-time strategy elements to the series."
- Koichi Ishii, creator of the World of Mana series.

Breathing new life into the vaunted Mana franchise, Heroes of Mana
takes the series into an entirely new dimension. Generals will
plan, plot and strategise their way to victory on the battlefield. Command
an army of heroes, creatures and beloved rabites with the use of the
Nintendo DS touch screen, and experience an all-new perspective on the
ever-evolving battle for the Mana Tree. Skilled players can see how they
rank among other players around the world through the Nintendo Wi-Fi
ranking system. Heroes of Mana was developed by Nintendo-owned Brownie Brown and the game is currently slated for a late summer release.

Whoop... A certain future purchase.

You think you've got problems.
What are you supposed to do if you are a manically depressed robot?
No don't even bother to answer that.
It just gives me a headache trying to think down to your level.

AWSOME NEWS!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

I had a feeling this would come over. Dawn of Mana has been reconfirmed for the US on PS2 as well...but I wouldn't get your hopes up about that as it's meant to be awful.

Heroes of Mana is so much fun Smilie

I thoroughly enjoyed Children of Mana though it was a bit repetitive at times. This game looks even better, will definitely get it.

This game bombed in Japan - really really bombed

Meh...

Not much to say to be honest. Yet again it isn't developed by Sqaure-Enix, and I can bet this will not stand up to either Secret of Mana or Secret of Evermore from the SNES. We will see though.
