Nintendo DS Media | First Final Fantasy Tactics Images

By Adam Riley 29.03.2007 10

Square Enix continues its Nintendo DS loving by making the announcement of Final Fantasy Tactics A2 official and revealing the first images of the game in action in the Japanese publication Weekly Shonen Jump.

So far the only details we know about the game (sub-titled 'The Sealed Grimoire') are that the two lead characters are a girl called Adel and a guy named Luso. Adel lives only for money, is a proud thief and has the nickname of 'Adel the Cat', whilst Luso is a dynamic chap who gets on the nerves of his school teachers, but his friends like his attitude.

The game is down for a late 2007 release over in Japan. Expect more details to be revealed at the Square Enix Party in May. Check out the new scanned images in the game's folder.

I wish they'd make it look less like the GBA version. The DS is capable of great graphics. Still, I'm looking forward to it as I loved FFTA.

I don't know...this looks far more like the original PSone game than the SNES-like GBA one.

Check out the difference:

Awsomeness, loved the GBA one, actually started playing it again recently.

The isometric view is the same but you can clearly see a lot more detail in the DS version and considerably cleaner image. Not to sure about the graphical styling though, its very similar to the style used in young child orientated anime/manga.

havent played the GBA game... but from the screenshots it loos good!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Well those pics do show the difference, jesusraz. I guess it's just because I expected a lot better from the DS version really. Still, they're not going fully 3D here, so I can see how it might not look like such big leap from the GBA version.

I <3 the GBA game so I'm expecting good things from this one Smilie

The graphics seem to be much more crisper, awesome. LOVED FFTA, this game is high ony list.

Damn...I was hoping they would use the FF III engine. Oh well. "If it ain't broke. Don't fix it."

No... not more turn-based strategy! (starts packing)
