Nintendo News | Dragon Blade, Katamari, Resident Evil & More

By Slydevil 03.04.2007 18

Down over in Codename Revolution-land, a distributor contact who has previously shown himself to be of exceptional reliability, with games such as High School Musical, Dave Mirra and Sims 2: Pets firmly under his belt (all now official), has semi-confirmed several rumoured titles and Wii accessories. As well as revealed a brand new title by the name of Dragon Blade.

First up he lists "Beautiful Katamari" as up for release; a game we previously reported on a couple weeks ago. Together with a few online shop listings, consider this now an almost dead cert for November.

Next up is Namco Museum Remix, he predicts the game an October release. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition was also listed, paired together with numerous speculative reports, and you have another virtually confirmed title; keep a look out for that in late May with a budget price tag.

"Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire" is also revealed, looking to be developed by D3Publishing, perhaps this is the "untitled action game" they once hinted at? Anticipate a September release. Plant a Shot Gun and Fishing Rod peripheral allegedly scheduled for release later this month on for good measure, and we have one majorly satisfying news piece!

Wow, sounds good and great to see further confirmation of Katamari, Namco Museum and RE4 Wii :-D

I'm intrigued by Dragon Blade...hopefully it's by a decent company and not some crappy effort.

I can only hope that the RE4 rumor proves true. Now I need Namco and Sega to get me some light gun games and pronto. While they are at it Nintendo needs to crank out a sequel to Duck Hunt.

Don't hate, congratulate!

It wouldn't exactly be unusual for RE4 to be released on every future console ever, look at all the other games.;-Smilie

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Added a couple extra details for Dragon Blade. I think they did a couple Naruto games. Perhaps it'll be some anime type Fire Emblem kind of thing.

Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

Looks like my dreams of Katamari Wii are going to come true. Smilie I'd probably buy RE4 again too if they implemented the pointer well and shoved in all the extras that the PS2 version got.

D3 Publisher just released the surprisingly fun Puzzle Quest on DS...so maybe Dragon Blade will indeed be decent!

Preach, brother.

Although May and at budget price, i think that is quite unlikely.

If it isn't budget price it's a joke.

I'd bet on it being budget, with Umbrella Chronicles coming out later in the year. Capcom can be ok with that kind of thing, they re-released Devil May Cry 3 with a Special Edition for an RRP of about

Resi 4 is really intriguing me. Someone just clarify it already!!!

Never owned Resi4 so the Wii Edition will be a good purchase to me, hopefully it will also include the PS2 bonus features. Also can't wait for Beautiful Katamari, wooot.

Katamari on Wii?

Woohoo!!!

After that comes out I'll finally be able to retire our PS2 and free up some space in the media center Smilie

Wonder how they're going to work the controls though. The double analog sticks simulating a tank control works pretty well.

Maybe use 2 Wiimotes with nunchucks?

Oooh, or simpler yet, maybe a use for the Classic controller with an actual Wii game?

Or, maybe they'll rework the control scheme for the Wiimote some how?

Whatever, as long as they make the controls good, I don't care how it works Smilie

Yeah, they've re-made the original on practically every console since then, and that was absolutely shit!

RE: Katamari Wii, Mongo, I had the idea of a Wii remote and a nunchuk (or two Wii remotes) actually being used like analogue sticks and using the motion sensing instead, as though you're actually pushing/tilting with your whole hand rather than just your thumbs...basically adapt the current control scheme and map the analogue movements from the sticks onto motion sensing. Use the shoulder/back buttons on the Wii remote/nunchuk to do a 180 degree turn. I think it'd work quite well.

Katamari's amazing!

Katamari would be awsome on the Wii Smilie

One of the good things about companies porting PS2 games to the Wii, we might get some of the PS2s better games..
*MGE sits patiently waiting for Okami Wii*
