Nintendo DS News | Phoenix Wright 3 Coming to Japan Early

Latest Update - Famitsu magazine in Japan has now revealed that Gyakuten Saiban 3 for the Nintendo DS will hit that territory on 28th August, a week after Square Enix launches Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (also on DS). There is currently no word on whether an English translation will be included or if it will be at a budget price, just like the Gyakuten Saiban 2 remake (Justice for All in the US/Europe), but both are expected.

About time! Bet it comes out in Japan first, though...so I'll probably be importing it from there.

It could be the fourth game... Has anyone got evidence to prove that this is the unreleased GBA one (#3) and not the one coming out real soon in Japan (#4)?

To come out so soon after the Japanese GS4 makes it unlikely to be that...has to be the much-discussed GS3 port. Even Capcom has been hinting at it!

I doubt it's the fourth - Phoenix isn't in the lead role in it.

I'm thinking this is part of the reason why there's no English option in the fourth one (as I said in another news comment) - they've been doing the localization of the third port.

I still need to buy the second Phoenix Wright. First one was awesome when in the courtroom.

The second is even better, because the investigation parts are more like the courtroom sections in parts, too!

Hmmm, I'll wait for a more reliable source I think. But great news if true (and let's hope it's the 3rd GBA game).

Awesome! I really hope so too, investigating bored me to tears at times in the first, but the game more than made up for it when in court. Shouting objection as loud as you can? Priceless! Smilie

It's probably just what they inputted it into their retail system as when DS got announced and they never bothered changing it.

I haven't finished the first one yet. Still enjoying it though. SmilieSmilie

Great news - I guess this is a straight port like the second (ie no DS specific cases like Case #5 on the first game) ??

I juts got the second game from the US .. not quite that excellent Tesco price, but a bargain nonetheless .. Smilie

I'm certainly not going to believe it just because some random shop I've never heard of might (if it's not faked) have it listed on their computer system with a console name that suggests they don't have a clue anyway (it was never Gameboy DS, even when it was announced).

    Cubed3 Member

No, it wasn't, but some people called it Gameboy DS. Also, Gamecrazy are fairly big overseas...

YAY! i guess Smilie ive never playes a PW game but they looko pretty awsome! Smilie

Yes, mostly by people who didn't know what they were talking about. And it doesn't matter how big they are, my experience of games retailers in general is that they're the last people to trust.

There's your proof Smilie I can't wait! I'd heard about it being set before the other two, but never bothered to read up on the story for fear of spoiling too much. This looks really intriguing - can't wait for September...unless it comes out in July for Japan Smilie

I think part of it is before PW1, part of it after PW2...not sure. Either way, it's supposed to be the best of the series (thougn GS4 may have it beaten now!). Can't wait...

    Staff Member

I thought this was already out in japan.
Anyway, does this add anything new to Phoenix wright?

No, it has been released on the GBA twice (once as a budget re-release)...There is no confirmation of a Japanese release of GS3 DS, but I'd assume maybe around July/early August.

I'm thinking this is going to have the English translation in it, since the feature is popular and it's fairly close to the US launch. Can't wait!

    ModeratorStaff Member

Damn, I'd really love to get into this series, can't find it in retail for anything lower than
