Update - Here is some short video footage of the latest build of RotR: Raid over the River. Again, apologies for the low quality - all that was to hand was a camera phone and nobody to assist with holding it!

    Stick around for further updates...

Exclusive - Nibris has sent Cubed3 the new box art for its late 2007 release ROTR, formerly known as Raid Over the River and on it there is the revelation that the game will use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. You can check it out below:

    So these games exist, eh?

Well I'm happy to be proven wrong. Still a 2D shooter and what looks like a Puzzle Bobble clone are a long way from the hype for Sadness.

My skepticism is beginning to wane, but I still have my doubts.

    Prove me wrong Nibris!

Well, I have no doubt these games are coming. I've played something like five different builds of Double Bloob in the past week and have a very early version of RotR at the moment. The RotR engine is nice and smooth...I'm hoping to capture some video footage of both later today *fingers crossed*.

I thought they didn't have a publisher any more? Or was that just for Sadness? Either way, glad to see the games are still on the way. Lets just hope they're good!

Sadness has a new publisher. Frontline was taken out of the equation and replaced by a better alternative Smilie

Not exactly. Frontline was never a publisher of Sadness - we just get them to help in coding but we find a better partner and now we are sure that Sadness become exactly this game which we need.
Amd one thing - we don't want to put game in market because it is good time for publisher. We give final build when we will completelly sure that this is total AAA game.
And one thing else - Double Bloob is first game of Bloobs universum. Second one will be Bloobs Karts...

I love the artwork. Looks very well and mature, too. Glad you didn't pick one like Nanostray (Nanostray's is good, thou, but you wanted to seperate yourself from Nanostray 2 - good thing). Like the style.

And: We've seen so many evidence of these 3 games (Rotr, Double Bloob, Sadness)) that I never waned to believe in Nibris.
I think Sadness is very important to prove that Wii is no stripped down console, that can either only take PS2-engines or only childrens-games and casual-games. So I am expecting great things from nibris. Sorry, guys, you better build the best Wii game ever. ;-P

I also like that nibris likes C3 so much to give exclusives...
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

I'd have thought a Polish company would have a better understanding of the Cyrilic alphabet.

For those not in the know, the backwards R is a russian (and bulgarian) letter, pronounced as 'ya'.

I hate it when peole use this letter inappropriately to imply that something is Soviet or Russian.

The boxart looks really great. This game(as well as the other Nibris titles) keep on sounding better and better. I'm looking forward to the releases of their games to see how they play and if they play well I'd probably pick them up.

Say Nibris(user, if thats really you....) I love how you guys keep in touch with the fans, its totally rad, don't lose that style guys. ^_^

A little video clip up top for your perusal. Again it's not good quality, but my resources here aren't exactly wonderful Smilie

The music's great and the engine is very stable, albeit without any enemies at the moment!

So this game is due out in late 2007, has been in development over a year (apparently) and don't have any enemies on screen.

It's a bloomin' 2D shooter! People knock these up by themselves on PCs all the time.

Someone explain to me why Nibris gets the time of day from C3, whilst all manner of other developers are slagged off. What's so great about what you've been shown? The vids you've posted so far today suggest Nibris, even if they are real developers, are a total joke!

I also wish DR_R would fuck off, you continually sing Nintendo's praises even when they show no footage for an upcoming game, yet all you can do is slag these guys off. They don't need your utterly unconstructive critiscisms. Indie developers are the guys we should be supporting.

Dr_R -- why so intense? I bet the bad video of it is to prevent you from seeing it clear until its a final build of the game.

and for you to think people "knock these up by themselves" - that is hardly the issue. You know not of anything that has gone into the creation of this game - and neither does anyone else - aside from them.

The levels themselves appear to be designed with 3d elements - if not mostly. That in itself is quite the load to handle. The plane also appears to be a 3D model - which may mean so are the enemies - who aren't shown most likely because it isn't a final build.

    Do your best Nibris!

Don't get your knickers in a twist Knighty!

I'd just like to know why many, many people who post on this site treat Nibris as if they're some proven fantastic developer who are creating masterpieces on DS and Wii.

To my mind all we've seen is a some shaky footage of a 2D shooter that looks a bit meh, and some rather crappy looking things that could've been a mini-game from New Super Mario Bros. Oh, and Sadness if it exists!

So far the hype on this site for Nibris is miles and miles ahead of any promise they might actually hold as devs. What the hell is going on?

    Edit: response

Sly, I don't sing Nintendo's praises beyond holding faith in them to produce a quality product, as they have done for 20 odd years. My posts mainly address dunderheaded notions that the Wiimote is a failure or that there's no interesting games for Wii.

Any intensity in my posts concerning Nibris is purely my sense of disbelief that any forum as cynical as the internet (and many posters on this site, without doubt) doesn't doubt the quality of the product that Nibris may produce. As soon as games by other devs are announced there are cues of people on this site saying "bet it'll be shite", but there seems to be a collective blind spot when it comes to Nibris. Hopefully what I post on here provides a bit of balance.

I'll say again, I hope these games are good (although I'm highly dubious that Double Bloob will be) but I've seen nothing that suggests they will be.

Maybe the fact that they seem to care about the community of gamers out there?

Even if by chance they don't really exist, what's the harm in supporting them if they do?

There is no need for people to get so worked up...I've already stated this is a VERY early build and I'm waiting on the updated version. This is at least five months old and the game has come a LONG way since. That build shows how stable the whole thing is and I'm promised a much better version will wing its way to me shortly.

All I wanted to do was give our readers a little insight into how things are progressing over time Smilie
