Nintendo Wii News | First Sadness Trailer This Year

Quick News - Nibris has contacted Cubed3 to reveal that the first proper trailer for the eagerly awaited Sadness on Wii will indeed appear later this year, with the game set to launch no earlier than 2008. The company aims to show the game when it is confident people will be thoroughly impressed with it.

Fantastic, I cannot wait to see it, what with the known knowledge about Umbrella Chronicles in truth i am more excited about Sadness now and what it might bring to the table- something refreshingly new.

Take your time Nibris, make a truly great, and give us something not to be sad about.

I really hope it's a fine mix of all that is great about the horror genre on differing media, and i really want it to play on certain innate human behaviour and fears. LS

You know, it is unfair to blame nibris for vaporware.
In making a game, graphics are the almost only thing you see and grip with one hand and right away. and graphics are the most time consuming thing to do in video gaming. There is so much you do not see but take a lot of work: coding, AI, game mechanics, game design, concepts...
When graphics aren't final, they look crap! nibris released some studies with Sadness or their ominous RPG I forgot the name right now (sorry). They looked uttely shite and may do more damage then they satisfy us.
So waiting so long and even longer for a first trailer is no indication of vaporware. I am confident they are working like hell on Sadness and tweaking graphics takes forever or at least almost until end of project. Even levelbuilding can be acconplished with raw material.

This is going to be one hell of a game and I think the Quick news comment is phrased correctly .. the game will release 2008.

Look forward to seeing it. Glad I'm gradually being proven wrong on the Nibris front. Let's hope it's as good as many people here seem to think it'll be.

I think it would be great if Nintendo would publish it. I do not know if Nintendo are as good to the devlopers themselves as they appera to us customers, but it sure would help sell the game.
Nintendo know how to sell these games, as they did with Eternal Darkness (Which was imho not that good).

Most things that make people shout vapourware, come out eventually.

Prey, STALKER, Duke Nukem Forever will probably come out in the next couple of years. Sadness isn't even in the same league as that lot.

They can happily have another year from me. I want this game to be immense (which I'm sure it will be), and the longer they take to develop it the more true I'm sure it'll be.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they manage with this one too...I liked the concept from day one, but I gotta admit I'm a bit sceptical given the rather severe lack of info from Nibris. Still, some companies give way too much info and hype I guess.

I think Saddness visual look, even if it was on the N64 would always be killer. Most games do not have a diverse look to them outside of "1080p!" and "HDR NORMAL MAPPING!" bullshit so that is good.

The main reason why I wan't to see the Sadness trailer is for the gameplay. Gameplay is a make or brake in everything.

Balls, they've got the Double Bloob image I was about to use as a new exclusive story...! I got it last week, but was told to hold off on it for a while as it couldn't be talked about.
