It is not that often that we get firm sales data from countries around Europe, by the hardware numbers for March have now been revealed for France.
According to French magazine 'Les Echos', the numbers for January to March are as follows:
1.) Nintendo DS - 260,000
2.) Wii - 144,000
3.) Playstation 2 - 92,000
4.) PlayStation Portable - 90,000
5.) PlayStation 3 - 81,000
6.) Xbox 360 - 43,000
Remembering that the PlayStation 3 launched at the end of March, that is quite an impressive start for Sony's next generation platform. However, Wii and DS were still the clear victors, with Microsoft's platform struggling as much as reports from elsewhere around Europe have previously suggested.
