Nintendo News | 2007 Japan Wii Line-up Revealed

By Jorge Ba-oh 01.05.2007 22

With many of Nintendo's big-hitters disappearing from the public eye, many had wondered when the likes of Mario and co. would be hitting the company's tiny beast. Brawl, Galaxy and Corruption are amongst the eagerly awaited titles hitting Japan in 2007.

  • Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race (DK Jet) - June 28, 2007
  • Wii Health Pack -- 2007
  • Disaster: Day of Crisis - 2007
  • Mario Party 8 - 2007
  • Project H.A.M.M.E.R. - 2007
  • Wii Music - 2007
  • Super Mario Galaxy - 2007
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 2007
  • Battalion Wars II - 2007
  • Forever Blue - 2007
  • Mario Strikers Charged - 2007
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 2007
  • Mario and Sonic at the Olympics - 2007

Certainly good news for Japanese players - a combination of well known names compliment the unique IPs that were expected to have been dropped. When these titles will make Western shores is unknown, but expect a fair chunk to be primed and ready before the year is out.

Thanks to IGN for the scoop.

Bah, you don't have to ruin it for me, I can still hope.

Though if it is true, that is good for us here in the U.S., being an American developer and all.Smilie

Metroid will launch in the US before it launches in Japan.

And Reggie said Metroid Prime 3 is coming out in the US, December AT THE EARLIEST

If this list is official Nintendo, there are some things following, which are very interesting:

    * they are scheduled and fiscally bound to 2007, means, they will not shift to 2008 (mostly)
    * as Nintendo seldom releases these hits all on a bunch, they will be spread over complete 2007.
    * as there is no date given, I say they come out earliest of 3 months from now
    * Metroid will be released first over here, as it is no Japanese game. Predecessors sold most in the west. So not much time will be taken for translation and release, as it is - you said it - an American game
    * there are many great names given here, it means, that Nintendo is breeding new big games for 2008, meaning that the names - Project H.A.M.M.E.R., Day Of Crisis, SMG and so on - are all scheduled to be poured over us in 2007.
    * I say '2007' means 'until Q1/2008, because of the fiscal year.

That's good news. At last, new games for my Wii!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Fiscal years are stupid... Either way I'd be surprised if MP3 wasn't out this real year, since it was supposed to be a bloody launch game...

Also, if all those games are supposed to be coming out this year, and none of them are coming out any time soon... Well... Good job spreading the releases Nintendo >_>

That's not what Reggie said Smilie

I can't say any more than what's been officially announced...but...

The last official announcement I read (and was repeated by Reggie) said MP3 would NOT be out in the first 2 quarters of 2007 (so no earlier than July).

This annoucnement says it will be released in Japan in 2007 (at least that's what I read here and at 2 other news sites...I'm guessing it was an official press release).

I'll leave it to you guys to figure out what this all means Smilie

Metroid C will come out around October i reckon, Nintendo will release it strategically before Halo3 in the U.S.

Forever Blue is a little talked about title that interests me greatly, diving aimlessly with friends in concept sounds very cool. LS

Awsome some really good games on that list SSBB i think will come out in 2007 but im not expecting MP3...

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

    SSBB in 2007 - that's great!

So Corruption gets decent LAN-support - I'm glad they pulled it back from launch window and tweak it up. I like that better then early launch and not entirely great.

Shinks, why do you wait for Forever Blue? What's so special about it?

Well i love Scuba diving and have dived in the Maldives not far from my land of origin in Sri Lanka.

I like the idea of diving with a few friends online and exploring. I know the real thing cannot be compared to this, but the fact i can do so with friends that can barely swim in real life sounds great. Also due to the nature of the game lagging issues will not be such a problem i think.

Very little is known about the title as of yet but i hope it's a competant one, if only to give me a fix until the next time i get the opportunity to visit a real coral reef again. Smilie (awe inspiring). LS

Why is that surprising, considering it was supposed to be out at launch, last year?

The reason they were saying it was a launch title was because the original brawl was just going to be melee with online features. So it wouldn't of took much time to produce that game.

Whose arse did you pull that out of? Stop making shit up
