This is all the Wii is good for; party crap.

Realistically its nothing new, It will add more variety and introduce a new genre, but it seems like copying Sony, personally I dont want Nintendo to stoop to that level as everyone will notice when there is a clone of singstar, Buzz and other various games.

Then again the potential for many hours of drunken friends trying to sing crappy 80's songs, whilst trying not to throw chunks over the mic and the guy next to you.

Its all about bringing people together! hopefully there will be more games on the basis of fun rather than interactivity, theres only so far it can go.

Nintendo aren't making the game...it's EA.

Even if Nintendo dont want the game on Wii they cant say to EA no sorry your game is crap...Smilie ITS EA the biggest 3rd party Developer that supported the GC and the same with the Wii.........

Nintendo would hardly refuse to license a game like that, and that's pretty much the extent of their decision on such matters.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Nintendo makes the consoles, approves most developers and publishers (i.e. companies like Blizzard, whilst not having made anything for a Nintendo console, aren't exempt from announcing a game) and then just lets them make the games.

If Nintendo had to "accept" every single game, we'd be in a very crappy situation right now!

Oh man Singstar on Wii!!!! I LOVE Singstar!!

USB? Damn...I was dreaming it would just be the circular top of the mic and you'd plug that into the bottom of the Wiimote.

I beg to differ Smilie

Our 2 favorite games for the Wii so far have been Zelda:TP (finished) and Super Paper Mario (still working on it).

Of the Wii games I've played, these are the 2 best games so far (although Sports and WarioWare are both very good also).

Now, that's not to say that there are a large number of party style games for the Wii.

But that's not all the Wii is good for Smilie

If a High School Musical game using this deigns to rear its ugly head, I shall kill someone - and it won't be myself. Until then, a new peripheral is nothing to be annoyed at - one can buy it if 'tis good and ignore it otherwise. But microphones are a tad (read: exceedingly) overused in the videogame industry in this day and age.

Screwing the rules since 1989.
