Sega have unleashed their blazing fast hedgehog on Nintendo's DS once more in an action packed sequel to the 2005 hit, Sonic Rush, in a handful of brand new screenshots.

Our favourite hedgehog ventures into a brand new pirate-themed world complete with 7 different islands. He can use ships to travel between worlds and along the seas to go head on with the pirates and their leader, the diabolical Captain Whisker.

The backgrounds look really good, but what the hell is with the foreground? It looks like something you'd see in a shitty Flash game developed by one fat guy, overnight in his mother's basement...

Yeah it does look slightly out of place.
One thing iI hope is fixed in this game is the silly looking robots that look like robotnik, just somthing i miss from the old sonics is the variation in badniks from level to level.

Pirates, dinosaurs and Captian Whisker. Looks like it's taken a simliar route to Sonic and the Secrets Rings. Which i hate.Smilie

Keep Eggman/Robotnik and his robots and not some stupid enemies you normally see in copy-cat platformers.

Other than that, this is looking good.Smilie

Yeah... It did... A lot... All the scenery seems to have black outlines in those screens, it looks weird...

But, but, at least there are badniks now ;-; For the first time since Sonic Adventure I think...

i remmeber before the ds was released there was a full 3d sonic game running on it, what the hell happened there! i like rush, but at the end of the day its a game you'd expect to see a decade ago! not something worth

Well the concept seemed to become the special stage in rush except modified a bit.
At the end of the day 2D sonic > 3D sonic, the DS is the only place for 2D fans of sonic to get there fix, now go away you ballbag.

It was a tech demo and it involved rubbing the stylus across the screen as fast as possible for a few minutes... Looked fun...
