Very nice interview, well done Adam star for you!
Anyway interesting to hear that there might be a game on the Wii, i reckon it will be very good if they did bring this to the console!
Spot on!

. For example, use the controller as a sword in an RPG, but only for the final climax of finishing off the final boss character. I believe that being selective in where the function is used would give players a sense of accomplishment, as well as prevent the game from being monotonous. I would hate to tire the players out by making them swing the controller forever.
Spot on!

Not really, no.
Not spot on at all.
Using the controller in place of finnishing moves only is a shallow way to use it akin to mapped buttons.
1:1 sword movement is what we want.
I dont want to have the game tell me when I can use it or not.
I want to be able to slash and have are movements reflected on the screen in real time.
Using a button for 90% of the time and then a Wiimore for a last bit not only strikes as gimick, but also is worse then 100% buttons.
It takes away from the immersion
Our brain dosnt adapt to one controll scheme or the other because it draws attention to the controlls themselfs.
There is nothing monotonous whatsoever about having true controll rather then button controll.
Monotonousness (:p) just comes from game sceneros being repedative.
I mean, WiiBoxing Side, am I the only person on the planet not scared of getting "tired" by playing my Wii ?

I'm on your team Darkflame. In my opinion the more Wiimote realism the better. I don't like using the wiimote at unnecessary times in a game, and I don't like use it when it is poorly incorporated.. but games like Zelda use it perfectly. I didn't get tired of using it and and the commands are as natural as buttons with the realism of swinging a sword. Using the Wiimote as a "finishing move" would be treating the wii as a gimmick.

I agree. It is lame to say, that Wii should only be used for boss battles. What are you up to, EA? I mean, I used Wiimote in Zelda TP all the time and was not tired at all. And these controls even were implemented after design was finished. Check out Metroid Corruption, even Red Steel, EA. And then shut up and do not tell us we're getting tired. I played Red Steel standing all the time and that's the best way to do.
What's more tiring then pressind b-button all the time to beat someone or shoot him to death? Lame!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Lol what's with the text, i am a non conformist so i shall continue without doing so.
Great interview, very informative Adam, you chose your questions well.
I still play the snes version in bouts now and then (vc) but i see the limitations when i play. I really hope these games address some of mine minor quibbles and that they still retain all the charm and aspects that made the other games so good.
LS Darn, ive been conformed NOOOooo...
