Nintendo Media | DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Hits Wii

By Jorge Ba-oh 21.05.2007 6

Atari have confirmed that the recently announced DBZ: Sparking Meteor will indeed be hitting Western shores as the third installment of the Budokai series.

Budokai Tenkaichi 3 brings a refined experience with over 150 playable characters from the Dragonball Universe, enhanced battle and visual overhaul over 20 battle stages. Wii control has been improved, with better motion control to execute some key signature moves and energy attacks. In addition, day and night stages will allow players to utilise different character attributes/skills.

"Atari is incredibly excited to offer the ultimate chapter in the Budokai Tenkaichi series with over 20 new characters that have never been seen in any other DBZ video games such as Nail, King Cold and King Vegeta and battle stages that fans will love," said Emily Anadu, Senior Product Manager, Atari, Inc. "Each year, the developers refine the game to bring fans closer to feeling like they are actually playing the show."

Good news and judgin from the shots, the interface looks a little cleaner.

My only gripe is that the game seems to be identical to the 2nd Tenkaichi except with a few new additions. I'm hoping for a greater movelist and some more unique game modes.

I'll be happier with more characters. As much characters as there were in T2, I wanted more. I'm glad King Cold will be in it. A longer/better story mode wouldn't hurt either.

I recognise one of the stages on a screenshot. When it says 20 stages, I imagine that means the 12 or so from the previous game and then 8 more.

What I'd like to NOT see is repeated animations when it comes to special moves. I remember playing and at least 5 different characters had a certain move, with a unique name, but all shared the same animation.

I don't post much, but I will appreciate any feedback on the posts I do make. Feel free to PM

I'm surprised to see Vegeta's Dad in there... I guess they've just run out of characters that actually did anything in the series...

Doesn't look much different, but I'll probably get it, I really enjoyed DBZBT2.

I wonder if it'll have playable Bulma or Lunch this time! :3

Also, it should be online, that'd be cool.
