Nintendo News | Wii & DS Get Exclusive Geometry Wars Edition

After the massive success of Geometry Wars has had on the Xbox 360's Live Arcade service, it has now been revealed that the a brand new version is coming exclusively to Wii and DS! It has been spotted in the latest edition of Nintendo Power that Bizarre Creations' game will be reworked as Geometry Wars: Galaxies by none other than Kuju Entertainment, the good folk behind Battalion Wars for Nintendo.

The Wii edition is said to make good use of the motion controller, whilst the DS game will utilise the stylus as much as possible. In addition to this, the single and multiplayer, plus retro and evolved modes from the original will be included.

Its always looked impressive but that might be the HD crispness shining through. Still how different could it look on wii. Surely it can handle all those Colours and lines after all. Looking forward to this. Better not be fully priced on wii though. Hopefully it will have online play. . . My money is on the DS version at the moment. Stylus input stops the developer being too obscure with the controls and the wifi system has been established for a while now.

Will it cost

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

They should make it a downloadable game, and at the very least a budget title...

Anyway, Kuju being behind this sounds good, I loved Battalion Wars so this should be a laugh...

It might not be Kuju London, the different Kuju studios do very different things.

Damn, I sure hope they leave it for a bit for Nintendo to sort out their original content thing, or people are gonna get ripped off... Smilie

Well it doesn't really matter who's making it, the game already exists... I doubt they could make it much worse/better.

Either way I haven't got a 360 yet so I'll definitely be getting this. As long as it's downloadable and not too expensive. Which it probably will be... We can always hope though

Multiplayer could be pretty cool I suppose. It would certainly be manic

There's plenty of room for this to be ruined. They can't exactly port it to either machine, and the DS's resolution will effectively make it a different game.

Why can they not port it to the Wii? The DS version, yeah (but I was kind of ignoring that one existed), but I can't see why the Wii version would be anything other than a port with pointing controls and without the option of HD

I've got to say that from the title alone this sounds like a great game. Bung compasses (the pointy kind) and protractors across the room at your foe, whack them with a steel ruler and FINISH THEM by injecting trigonometry directly into their brain. Sadly, I doubt that the actual game revolves around such activities.

I still have got to get this on the 360, hopefully this should turn out well on the Wii. It will be interesting to see how they will impliment the controls for it. LS

Err... No... It's about 10 billion times better

Nah. No way any game can be better than a classroom brawl sim., and that picture just looks like gratuitous flashing lights. Pretty graphics, to be sure, but what does it actually play like, eh?
