Nintendo have updated the recently revamped official Super Smash Bros. Brawl website with a handful of tasty new screens of two legendary mascots getting it on: Link and Mario.

A whole load of new screenshots can be found in the game's album below.

Some shots look a lot better than others, still - liking the look of the game overall. Hopefully the background environments can be tweaked and refined before release - it was one of the graphical elements of Melee that let it down.

You should check out the comparative shots with the GCN version, it will shut up the likes of Raab "it looks like a Cube game".

Is it just me or is the Mario model absolutely fantastic? I'm not usually one to go on about these kind of things, but the textures on his dungarees are brilliant. Really makes it look like denim. Flame effects also look fantastic.

I really think this game proves why, at least on an SD-TV, Wii has potential to stand up to the 'true' next-gen consoles. Really, that shot of Mario at the top is excellent.

Hmm, at this rate I think we'll have to wait at least 2 weeks before new content comes in. Tommorow and the next day will probably be two more sets of character profiles I reckon, or a existing level.

This game is gonna be very popular with the fan girls.

EDIT: Anyway, looking nice. Although it's doubtful we'll get any new solid info for a few weeks, we'll still get music & new screenshots quite often, I like the sound of that anyway, whether anyone here does or not.

Also, it looks like the character section will be laid out nciely; Veteran Fighters, & I assume Newcomers. Looking good, it's gonna be an awesome site one day Smilie

EDIT 2: Is there a certain time the site is updated? I havn't got another exam until after half term, so I'll be able to wake up in the morning to SSBB goodness! Smilie

EDIT 3: I can't get over the visuals, they look lovely every time I see them, not so much the polygons, but the textures.

I say bring on the character profiles, 1 a day is lame, but 2 a day is more than satisfactory for some reason, there are only about 10 known characters, won't be long before they'll have to start giving us new info at this rate! Smilie

EDIT: Also, Smash 101 has changed to Smash ABC. I though it sounded cooler before, but oh well.

But if you meant SSBM, yes, I think it will do awesomely. SSBM was the most bought GC game ever, I think, & the Wii is more popular than GC, plus there will be more Wiis sold by then as it's like a year from Wii launch.

nintendo are clever delaying this game they want to sell as much wii units as possible.so when the game does come out it will sell like hot hot cakes that way they will get a quick result

It may be clever of Nintendo to delay this game, but damnit, I just can't wait for this game! Besides, what's so bad about the background? Looks good enough to me.
