In the face of adversity...

With two major movie tie-ins out at the moment, Spider-man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, it was always going to be a struggle for Nintendo's Mario Strikers Charged Football on Wii. But with the new footy game being heavily promoted and being the first Wii game to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, just how well did it do in the face of such adversity?

Spiders, Pirates and Mario...

Remembering that there are three Top 40 charts in the UK, and that we do not bother with the Top 40 Budget Chart, let us take a quick glance at the All Prices Top 40. Wii Play drops two thanks to all the current chart activity, now residing at No.6, Brain Training continues to get pushed on TV and, as a result, shifts up two to No.7, whilst Cooking Mama drops five to No.10. It is actually worth noting that whilst Picross DS has not made even the DS Top 20, it has entered the Top 40 Budget Chart at No.32, so perhaps it will have a chance to rise higher in the coming weeks.

Great start for mario strikers, it was always going to get third spot....damn movie tie-ins.

The DS had 23 games present in the All-Price, Full-Price and Budget-Price Charts, that's just crazy. Chart-track need to give the DS a top 40 chart.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Cooking mama is innovative but i ound it really boring..doesn't deserve the huge sales...trauma centre was just as innovative...it deserves the sales.

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

It's good to see that mario strikers doing good in the charts.I think it will stay up in the charts for a good while.

ULTIMATE WII GAMER!!!

Mario Strikers 3rd yes very good... i didnt expect it to be that high! and probably Nintey are happy with the sales!!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Well Nintendo sure have turned around. Nintendo should be glad that a few of their titles seem to be regulary hitting the top 5
