Nintendo News | Myst Finally Confirmed for DS!

By Adam Riley 07.06.2007 9

Originally from 1993, point and click adventure Myst from the PC hit the PSP last year and was rumoured to be coming to DS. Now, though, Midway has finally confirmed a Nintendo version is indeed coming. Thankfully, rather than shoe-horning the old game onto the handheld, it is being reworked to take full advantage of the hardware and will include new aspects as well to keep the adventure fresh.

In addition to the sound being updated and video clips being reworked, there will be a new 'Age' called the 'Rime Age', which is exclusive to DS and multiple save slots included. The game is currently set for a November, 2007 release. Great news for traditional adventure fans!

Stick around for further updates...

That's cool, would work well on DS. I didn't like it much though, but admittedly I only played 10 minutes.

Myst is terrible.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

'Tis utter crud. About as fun as Microsoft PowerPoint.

Multiple save slots!! YES!! Now my sister won't screw around with my game. God I hated it when she played my Pokemon games...

Can someone give me the gist of exactly what the heck Myst is about?

Its an adventure game, if I remember properly there is no fighting. You go around through different static scenes, trying to solve puzzles.

It's a very slow-paced point and click adventure game, just about walking around, solving puzzles, etc, you'll either love it or hate it. I liked it very much at the time but haven't played it for years. I don't think it would work well on a handheld, it would lose its atmosphere.

Right, thanks. Well, its an interesting concept, at the very least.
