This week's IGN recap, Wii-k in review, brought some interesting tidbits including positive reception for the upcoming Harry Potter film-to-game conversion, Project H.A.M.M.E.R rumours, Zack and Wiki pimping and more.

They went to a bunch events this week (the usual names) they can't talk about, but good things are coming. Its "E3 mode" for devs.
Project Hammer rumor comes up. He reiterates concerns we've heard, still its a rumor. Matt said he's talked to another studio who had a "hardcore game", and Nintendo told them to "mix that one up" as well to allow the "mainstream" to play it.
Harry Potter is pretty good. If your a Harry Potter fan you should like it. No loading in the world, looks pretty good, great atmosphere, and good use of the Wiimote sometimes. Problems are the controls don't always work, bad transition to cut scenes (minor complaint he says), and the camera has some problems.
They are kicking off a "buy Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure campaign" (they did this with Eternal Darkness, they remind to buy ED again for those who missed it). Matt says its one of his top 3 Wii games. He says don't judge it by looks or the name. It could be the hardest game on Wii (I've heard this before, it supposedly has 2hr puzzles). They are telling Capcom they should do downloadable levels on Wii Connect24. Pre-order it.
The Bigs is fun. There is some lag. Check the latest preview for the basic run down of it. Too much motion in some areas but good in other areas. They said hopefully the recent build wasn't final and they can fix some of these problems.
Matt brings up Halo DS and he said the "nay sayers are bought to be owned next week or so".
More info coming on the games you know about and some new stuff. The new stuff looks like quality. Matt is hoping to unveil something original next week.
If you liked Godfather you should like Scarface. They think its better than Godfather.

Just listened to it, it's great that Zack and Wiki is a great game. It is certainly one of the best third party efforts so far graphically, but the fact it plays just as well is brilliant and means I have a option for a first puzzler for the Wii.

Dewy's Adventure, Chocobo Dungeon all look top draw, I hope they are equally good also.

No more news on a great GC game given Wii wings, the clue last week was that the developer who made B Kaitos would release one of their franchises on Wii. What could that Be?, I have not botherd digging myself. LS

Halo DS?? It's probably Halo Wars (the RTS spin-off) if anything...

LS, wasn't last week's teaser about a sequel coming to a game released at the same time as Baten Kaitos, rather than specifically one from its dev (the company Nintendo recently acquired, Monolith Soft of Xenosaga fame)?

Most presumed that since Tales of Symphonia wasn't far away from BK it could be ToS 2...But I'd be happy with Baten Kaitos 3.

This sounds like all very good news. Halo DS would be cool. Zack and Wiki sounds interesting, I am going to go look at a preview or something.

Yep, you could be right, I may have heard it funny. I am hoping it's ToS myself, that would be a great title for the Wii to aquire.

There are some really exciting games on the fringe, I cannot wait till E3< I will be locked to the Net feeding on all the info, and watching vids which I love doing.

Another Tales game would be great, but I highly doubt it'll actually be a ToS 2. RPGs never get sequels. Not unless they're really shit like FF X anyway...

And I don't get the bit about Project HAMMER... The rumour doesn't seem to have any relation to the game at all

Apparently it's been in the works for ages, but was cancelled...Then Bungie went on record lately to deny the whole thing...and now it's back in this podcast. Interesting!

Oh, and I seriously hope Tales of the Abyss is remade on Wii. It was thought to be meant for GC...but ended up on PS2.

I think they are going to post some demo footage of it on the site to prove to the whiners that he Matt and Co do not lie about such games. I wonder how it looks in DS form. Probally not very good. [LS]

Come on, Metroid looked petty good graphically on the DS. The problem is, I know for a fact that Bungie will not be developing it if does come out on DS.

I think people doubt the DS's capabilities too much. You might not like Metroid Hunters, but if anything it proved that the DS is very capable of handling a very nice looking FPS. I think Halo DS would be very feasible. Throw in some online multiplayer and the DS could potentially have another great game on its hands. At the very least it would pull in a lot more people and help shore up a genre that has only seen one or two decent shooters on the DS.

Yeah it wouldn't have a problem on the DS but the online would suffer, limited probably to 4 maybe 6 online would be a bit underwhelming for a halo game and lets not forget about friend codes!
They would probably have to concentrate primarily on the campaign and coop mode if it was to be any good.

I really expected the online for Hunters to suffer from only four people too though, but it turns out that if it had any more it just would be too much action. It's all in how they work with the restrictions to make it feel like you don't need 16 people IMO.

Still though, an online co-op mode with one friend would be neat.

I don't think he means it's actually coming out, I think he's just going to show a demo of something they got running on the DS.
