Nintendo Media | No More Heroes Screens

By Jorge Ba-oh 22.06.2007 23

A handful of slick new screens from the upcoming Suda 51 exclusive Wii project, No More Heroes, have hit the web after recent scans and the upcoming launch of the official website.

The story of No More Heroes revolves around Travis Touchdown, a typical otaku who lives in poverty in the fictional town of Santa Destroy, California, and since acquiring a lightsaber in an auction becomes a deadly hitman.

Ha ha it looks cool. I really hope they got the controls right, that could make or break it.

Looks fantastic.

I like the fact nothing has happened on the official site after the countdown has run to 00. It's clearly a statement from SUDA51 on what he thinks of countdown's for games. [link in sig]

I love it. it's so Nathan Barley- "fucking with your head yeah" {LS]

I love the pixel heart energy meter.

To continue with the theme: Totally Fucking Mexico!

Everytime new screens or info about this game comes out it firstly makes the game look even more cool and fun to play. Second, it makes the game look even more wierd. I mean whwats the deal with the tiger.

Can't wait for this game

2 words.

GARCIAN SMITH.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

IT'S NOT KILLER7-2.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Yes but it is a game about hit men by the same guy. A little easter egg of one of the Smiths would be great (I'd rather have Mask than Garcian though).

That's a great name for a OAP serial killer.

True, they may well incorperate a cameo here and there, the fan base in japan would really appreciate a little nod to that wonderfully unique game, a rarity nowadays. [LS]

Capcom would probably have something to say about that.

The graphics are terrible (at least in these shots) but I'll definatly be picking this up.

That's true the graphics don't look the best at all.SmilieSmilie

ULTIMATE WII GAMER!!!

SUDA could probally have have them in disguise as NPCs, done in a very subtle way, that would be enough for the fans. I would have thought that he himself had the rights to those characters since he himself devised all 7, but if that were not the case if he did something like the above suggestion of mine I dont think Capcom would mind too much. [LS]

The graphics may not be brilliant, but I love the art style.

I've always been a sucker for cell shading.

This looks like a required buy.

Just wondering, could you please explain to me what exactly looks Cel-shaded here:

To me it just looks like your perfectly normal, and in fact pretty below average, game graphics... It seriously looks about as good as Vice City did... Like... YEARS ago... I mean Killer 7 didn't really look that great either, but it was masked by the brilliant style because nothing really looked properly defined anyway...

THIS is Cel-shaded, this looks surreal, kinda creepy and, to me, awesome

No More Heroes just looks... Incredibly poorly textured and kinda like what I'd imagine it to look like if Suda had made GTA 3 instead of Rockstar. I mean the map's even exactly the same for feck's sake...

Still like the sound of the game though, it just looks horrific... And seriously, shut up about Garcian, camoes, Killer 7 in general. It's ONE game (A good one, but just a random game nontheless), one that hardly anyone even bought anyway. Any cameos would most likely go unnoticed and be completely pointless/out of place in a new world. What we want is new characters, new storylines, maybe new genres, not to completely destroy the benefit of something new like Killer 7 by requesting endless clones of it...

POST WORK!

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I cant even be bothered to read the posts on this forums anymore... it just looks fucked... WTF is going on??? Its a mess... Smilie

Currently my post and Grumblers post are attached together like 2 Siamese twins!?!?

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

At least you managed to post!!!! [LS]

Dan, it's the way the character model is shaded. That's all there is in it though.

Cel shading has nothing to do with textures or ink outlines.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

To me it hardly even looks like there IS any shading. The girl just looks completely lit up all over, and the stuff in the background just looks like any other game...
