Nintendo Media | Smash Update: Zelda Returns!

We never doubted it for a second, but the Smash Bros. Dojo now confirms Princess Zelda is appearing in the game, along with an updated 'Twilight Princess' character model. Although it was expected, this is the first new character confirmed by Nintendo since Fox McCloud, so let's hope we'll see more in the future!

Just like Link, Zelda's design has also changed.
She has a slightly more subdued color scheme.

Her movement capabilities are not that good, but her magic adds power to her physical attacks. There's a reason why her hands and feet glow, after all.

& bloom is so overrated. It makes games look yellow & brown & bleak & dull.

Well HDR is obviously superior and really does make a difference, but Bloom is good enough for Wii.

By looks of his emblem, the blue MC in image is happy about the news.

Anyway, this is one of the good updates I feel, even if Zelda was expected. Now to see if Sheik makes an appearance.

Oh Gawd I hope Shiek doesn't come back I hated her... Pissed me right off... If they do bring Shiek back I hope they at least make her a separate character, wasting Zelda's B + Down move on Shiek was rubbish...

Expected, but good news all the same. With E3 coming soon, maybe we'll see a couple more character confirmations before then to build up hype.

This just another reason to get this game! Smilie I'm sick of waiting!

For me the best character models are Link, Zelda, Samus, Fox, Pit and Snake. They're so well made...maybe they'll be my fave characters for gameplay Smilie

NOTE: I don't whant to spoil the hopes, but I think that Sheik won't be in this game. They don't have a next gen model to make Sheik unless they make a new one, but I think they won't take the time for that...
Also remember: Sheik is from the 5th gen, he's two gens behind! Don't get the wrong idea, I also would love to see Sheik in this game Smilie

thank god...if they didn't have Zelda in the game I would have cried...pfft...i mean, her magic is cool and all....i just like movable characters...so I would rather pick other people over her....she's around 3rd in my bad list....^^ but thanks for the news!

What I tried to say with Sheik is that maybe Sheik doesn't seem to be needed for the game because Zelda is on it, also the fact that this Zelda doesn't transform in anything! This Zelda is just a sad Princess who tried to save Hyrule by "surrendering" to Zant...

Remember I said I also would love to see Sheik in this game... however, I think you can expect Ganondorf's Possesion over Zelda as a Zelda form. Who knows...
