Nintendo Media | Smash Update: Banana Peel

By Jorge Ba-oh 27.06.2007 16

Taking a leaf out of the Mario Kart weaponry book comes a slippery update on the Official Smash Bros website, with banana peels adding chaos to players who tread upon them.

Yes, banana peels... You don't, um...think they're too much of a clich

Who better to take the first slip than a pink blob that nobody likes?Smilie

Good inclusion, they should help setting devious traps for combo barrages. [LS]

EDIT:
I love the bag of wind myself Smilie

This is bound to make matches even more hectic, & leave you open for attack for a second or two. Probably a very important weapon to use in quick paced matches, where every hit counts.

The banana peel physics are quite nice too Smilie

EDIT: Everyone likes Kirby!! Smilie

Smilie That picture of Kirby is pretty funny! Smilie

Smilie That's great. I'm liking everything about this game so far. Smilie

This is starting to look like an amazing game!

Bananas "are bastard coated bastards with bastard filling".

Star for anyone who recognises that quote.

I truely hate bananas especially in Mario Strikers on the Wii.

Scrubs, am I right? (over and over again...Smilie )

Smilie That looks pretty good, never expected this item!!! Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

I was hoping for a Zelda themed week, this week, but it had to end here and on such a bizarre item.

Nothing much I can really say about this, it's just a piece of fruit that lays on the ground waiting for someone dumb enough to slip in its skin. Although that last image of Kirby is rather funny, his facial expression is priceless. Smilie

Bananas "Are foolish fools who dream of foolish dreams while foolishly dreaming about fools"

ZOMG what's that quote from? Smilie

Anyway, I can't wait to see what cometh hither tomorrow. It's definitely getting more exciting, as more is revealed, they have no choice but to reveal more things.... I know it's obvious, but it's why we got Zelda I guess Smilie

So after Meta Knight is revealed, we only have interesting character updates left, including Snake & Zero Suit Samus, they still intruige me.

GTFO!

Personally I get the feeling a bright yellow thing is gonna be pretty hard to miss on the ground, but I could be wrong... Certainly one of the more unique items we've seen so far.

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

Seeing how SSB in general is a very fast paced game, I can see this item being used to good effect.

Hahah cool. So what happens... you slip? Its not like Mario Kart where you can go off course. Still a fun little item. Smilie
