Nintendo Media | Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Screens

By Jorge Ba-oh 03.07.2007 49

A whole load of fresh screens from Samus Aran's upcoming adventure, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, have surfaced revealing the blonde bombshell taking down the biggest and baddest vermin in space.

A snippet of the GamePro interview...

GamePro: Will Metroid Prime 3 have any online modes?

Michael Kelbeugh: No. It's something we talked about early on, but we only have so many resources. We opted to devote those resources to making a better single-player experience.

What are the biggest differences between Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and the previous two Metroid Prime games?

It's got to be the controls. The integration of the controls with the Wii controller is a phenomenal difference, and a dramatic improvement in the experience as a whole.

How difficult was it to figure out how the controls would work?

When we first saw the Wii controller, our game director Mark Pacini was really concerned about being able to take all the controls we used in Metroid Primes 1 and 2 - because, really, you use every single button in those games - and morph them into the Wii controller. So we spent a tremendous amount of time making that as seamless and as intuitive as possible. And I think we accomplished that. I think we did a really good job , so that you can pick the Remote and Nunchuk up and not be intimidated.

Be sure to look through the screen's album below for more Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Thanks to GamePro for the media...

Why tease me like this? Smilie

Me want!!!Smilie

One doesn't understand... Is this meant to be AFTER the supposed graphics overhaul?

& it looks like there will be cutscenes too.

EDIT: Could there possibly be voice acting? We could hear Samus' voice. Would mean we won't have to wait for Smash Bros to hear it Smilie

In some of the trailers, several of the NPCs speak full sentences so it is a possibility that Samus speaks also. Would be nice to hear more from her instead of just the grunts and screams.Smilie

doesn't look all that special to me, im not interested anymore now seeing as tho its offline only.

There is voice acting and it seems decent from what little I have heard. I just hope Samus doesn't speak.

Some textures look great like Samus, but others like the shit behind her in the 2nd screenshot where shes sitting in the chair that just looks horrible.

The reason this miffs me is because there is NO ONLINE PLAY! GAH!!!

Smilie OMG that suite looks speeekin awsome!!

OMG i cant wait for this game! *i heart it*

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Looks fantastic, the game looks gorgeous!. Is that is a new form of transport I see above, I hope so.

Samus does not seem to speak herself in the clips we have seen so far, but NPCs do. Either way I am not fussed if we hear her speak or not. [LS]

I don't know... the 3rd screen looks nice. But to be honest is doesn't look much better than the original... the artistic direction is a bit worse too. Myabe its just the screens, I remember Metroid Prime 1 always looked crap in the screenshots, but A LOT better in motion. Wishful thinking?

Yeah thats true, it was the same with MP2 but when you play the game it looks much much better then shots...

Still looks good, the first shot is nice too. I was just wishing for it to look a bit cleaner.

Oh yeah, that NA delay? It was slated to be released the same week as Bioshock, Bioshock would have eaten it alive.

Looks incredible, exactly like the first two.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Looks nice, i've been playing through the first one recently in anticipation!
I remember there was a cut scene clip last e3 and it had some general guy speaking to samus, then there was the ice bounty hunter who had a voice but I doubt samus is gonna talk though.

Guess we'll hear Samus' voice clearly for the first time in SSBB, even though it'll be mosty grunts & screams, unless she has something to say after winning a match.

I think it's looking sweet! Look at shot 2. Great, methinks. Until now every shot looked like part 3 on Gamecube, now it looks like Part 3 on advanced graphics. Good to see they're tweaking the graphics at least a bit. I like quality of graphics!

Thanks for the other shots, Linkyshinks!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Well she grunts in Metroid Prime and also screams when she dies Smilie

XBL Gamertag: James2t3

Yeah but they always sounded kinda robotic. On Brawl she'll be out of her suit in the fray if you so choose... so no more robot noises that made people think it was a robot man in the first place.

Errr..They don't sound robotic at all, I think people thought she was a robot was because she was in a giant metal suit..Smilie

XBL Gamertag: James2t3

Well, she sounds very robotic in Melee & SSB 64.

& in Prime series they still weren't very clear. Smilie

No she kind of made robotic noises in Melee.

Sorry I was only talking about prime but yes the noises in the SSB series do sound like a computer or somthing.

Many of you are being too unrealistic about the Wii's capabilities. You can tell it'll look pretty damn excellent in motion, and if the the architectual design is anywhere near that of the first two - it'll look a damn sight incredible.

I trust Retro, i'm simply worried about it becoming a first person shooter.

Edit: Just caught this screen:

Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

This screen is looking awesome. I know, that 'low-res-grtaphics' often don'T look that good in stills, but great in motion, so I trust them too, I feared, they wouldn't grab Wii's capabilities. I think they do! *pointing at Slydevil's last screen*

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Plus YAY for proper widescreenSmilie
