Certainly looks nice... I have been keeping my eye on this game. Interested to see how it turns out.

*must check the official site today*

Interesting cash machine shot, maybe it's a system for doing something within the game that one would not normally associate such a function with a cash machine, that's SUDA. Looks good but nothing new to bite on, my eye is on it. {LS]

Or maybe he's just getting money out.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Maybe it's for Travis to get money to give to Suda to hire a better graphics artist... :p

Yeah maybe, but that is one hell of a wod of money to get from a cashpoint. Nothing is what it seems with his games, as with the whole TV set system from K7. {LS]

Ha, you have no sense of style jb!, I find it quite gritty for cell shading. I think scans do these games no justice. when Killer 7 came out everyone was dissing the graphics, then they saw it in movement.

Well they would after they just recieved the best looking GC game in Resi 4 and that Killer 7 was their next release. Killer 7 graphics are excellent, they are full of a style unseen previously. {LS]

Oh really? What is this Killer7? I'll go back to my game of Fifa.

Everyone loved Killer7's graphics. It was the gameplay which was criticised, because it was shit, to be honest. Interesting game, not very fun though.

Well actually people were very critical of the graphical style, at THIS stage when scans were being released. That is what I am refering to.

If you played it on the PS2 then it would be shit with it's long loading times. The game was also designed for the GC controller. having no alaogue stick ruined the basic gameplay of precise aiming needed.{LS]

I wasn't really on the scene then but surely that was just morons who don't matter on a rubbish forum?

Capcom Central you mean Smilie{LS]

Suda's graphica style never does get justice in stills. I graved about 'Killer 7' and when I saw it in motion it intrigued me. So I think this style is low-end, too, but I want to see it in motion. That means: I understand jb, but I do not want to agree with him before I don't see it moving...
I watched the legendary first trailer with the bad voice acting and was thrilled with the wonderful graphics style...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Never heard of it.

I absolutely love Killer 7. I really don't see what all the moaning about gameplay is. Seems to be based round the idea that if you're holding a button to move rather than pushing an analogue stick there's somehow less gameplay involved. It's great and Suda 51 seems to be one games designer that doesn't just go with the flow.

To top it all off, he's a Smiths fan too.

"This man has advanced communist views ... He dresses in a bohemian fashion both at his office and in his leisure hours."

It was pretty much just wandering about a maze doing little puzzles, with a bit of shooting in between, and having to read quite a lot of frustratingly repetitive dialogue. The on rails thing was good, I thought.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I agree, but to add the game revolved strongly around accurate shooting at speed, the game really forced you to improve your accuracy. The PS2 D-pad simply did not work as well. The game is VERY unforgiving for those that lack speed and accuracy. I had no idea about the Smiths connection until i read that Gamasutra interview. I used to love the Smiths!.{LS]

Got it for GC. Do you seriously have to use the PS2 d-pad, rather than the analogue stick, for shooting? By god it must be virtually unplayable.

Apart from the obvious name connection, the Smiths thing dropped the minute I got near the end of the first level. To reveal the code for the door you have to use Kaede's wrist slashing move to uncover it from some graffiti, which reads 'How soon is now?'

"This man has advanced communist views ... He dresses in a bohemian fashion both at his office and in his leisure hours."

'How soon is now?'

Shit of course Smilie, well I did not make that connection at the time myself, I just thought it was random along with everything else, and besides it's not what you expect is it. Star* for the fact Smilie.

No you can use the analogue too, but it's does feel very crap using the the PS pad.{LS]

I can't recall Killer7's graphics ever being panned on a widespread level.

This is looking great. Smilie

Before the game was released it was, largely by a contingent of Capcom fans wanting something along the lines of Resi4. They dont diss it now though, quite the opposite in fact. People seem either way on the cell shaded graphics thing, I myself love it, if it is well animated. I think animation is even more important with cell shaded graphics. {LS]

I'm sure Linkshinks is just high or something, I've never heard anyone complain about Killer 7s graphics... Everyone complained about it being on-rails (Which... Was slightly annoying, but just made it more functional really) and the fact that half of the 'puzzles' told you how to solve them on the map (That is, whenever you had to use a certain character for something, which was about all the thinking you ever needed to do in Killer 7, the map would tell you which one it was). I loved the game but the weird story was probably the best bit about it really. I tried playing through it again recently and found that it's practically impossible to play again... It's quite dull really...

This however couldn't appear any more different to me. It looks pretty fun to play (Or at least it will be if they get rid of the stupid shaking the controller thing) but graphically it looks fucking terrible. There's no graphical 'style' to speak of in this game, it just looks like GTA 3 with exaggerated shading. Saying Killer 7 looked crap in stills is mad, there isn't even much movement in the game apart from your own character. Besides, we've already seen videos of No More Heroes and they look just as shit as the screens...

The textures are definitely the worst I've seen after Manhunt... They look all blurry and... Dirty... It's like they've been saved as jpegs using Paint for fuck's sake

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

I was on most of the notable Capcom forums at the time Smilie. "Well actually people were very critical of the graphical style, at THIS stage when scans were being released. That is what I am refering to."-{LS]

The impression I got was that many Capcom fans were unhappy initially by what they saw of the "SCANS", and the fact the game was a departure from Resi 4. When they saw the game in movement it became a different story quickly. {LS]
