With Forever Blue bringing a much needed dose of refreshing sea water to the Wii, Famitsu have dived in and rated the project a surprising 10/8/9/8 (35/40). Be sure to head inside for some additional Famitsu tidbits.

    Forever Blue review translation:
  • Feels a little like a simulation, exploring areas gradually.
  • Clever production values sucks you in.
  • Changing the camera view can get you lost at sea.
  • You can explore the aquatic life as much as you want or you can go looking for events to take part in.
  • There's lots of stuff you can do - set your own pace.
  • Production is great, you can feel the mystery and magnificence of the ocean
  • Thanks to the effects of the mysterious music, the game feels very real.
  • Arc System Works is making a DS adventure.
  • Dungeon Maker DS in the works.

Thanks to NeoGAF's Jonnyram and duckroll for the translation.

Also, here are the other review scores from this week's issue:

    • Minna no Golf 5 [Everybody's Golf 5] (PS3, Sony): 9 / 9 / 9 / 8 - (36/40)
    • J-League Winning Eleven 2007 Club Championship (PS2, Konami): 8 / 9 / 9 / 8 - (34/40)
    • Konchuu Wars (NDS, Success): 7 / 7 / 7 / 7 - (28/40)
    • Remy no Oishii Restaurant [Ratatouille] (NDS, THQ): 5 / 6 / 6 / 5 - (22/40)
    • Slide Adventure: Mag Kid (NDS, Nintendo): 7 / 7 / 7 / 8 - (29/40)
    • Zettai Onkan Master (NDS, Hudson): 8 / 7 / 8 / 8 - (31/40)
    • Remy no Oishii Restaurant [Ratatouille] (PS2, THQ): 5 / 6 / 6 / 6 - (23/40)
    • Harry Potter to Fushichou no Kishidan (Wii, EA): 4 / 6 / 5 / 5 - (20/40)
Finally, below is a new scan of Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk:

The game is not a true sequel to Tales of Symphonia, which is why it has a sub-title as opposed to a number after its name. The game will play similar to the Tales of the World series, hence the point-and-click world location select and various other additions, such as monster collecting that has been likened to that of Dragon Quest Monsters, where your beasts can then be used as allies in battle.

The story will still follow that of Symphonia on GameCube, just as the first Nariki Dungeon game, Summoner's Lineage, followed on from Tales of Phantasia from the SNES. This game takes place in the combined world of Silvalant and Teseara, which was recreated at the end of the first title.

    Stick around for further updates!

Never thought this game would receive such a high score. Sounds great.

-I am so sold on this, I will be getting this as soon as it is available here. Ive been waiting for this since it was announced. I'm glad it's turned out to be as I hoped in spite of the minor faults- {LS]

Feels a little like a simulation, exploring areas gradually.

[I would like the option to free roam]

Clever production values sucks you in.

    [better imersion, better game]

Changing the camera view can get you lost at sea.

[Surely it has a sea compass?]

You can explore the aquatic life as much as you want or you can go looking for events to take part in.

[I like this aspect, it looks great identifiying species and interacting with them.]

There's lots of stuff you can do - set your own pace.

[That sounds great also, I expected some free roaming]

Production is great, you can feel the mystery and magnificence of the ocean

[The recent trailer showed just how good it looks]

Thanks to the effects of the mysterious music, the game feels very real.

    [Excellent]

Any details on what the online Co-Op involves and how it works?

Daniel, always watch for these titles in motion, escpecially Wii-titles, since no crisp textures or high-poly-models to catch your eye (must hurt, having a polygon stick in your eyeball!).

I am surprised, thou, too, I have to explore this title. I think it's something to check at home, let music, atmosphere and roaming take you in to actually rate the game properly...
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

What is it with JB and suggestive (and in this case, rhyming) news titles.

    Filthy. Bloody filthy.

I don't think this game looks like my cup of tea, what exactly do you do in it apart from wander around under water?

Explore wrecks for treasure, photograph species of all kinds, Co-Op online play, collecting things, that sort of mission based play. {LS]

I do like the mysteries of the ocean, but I don't think I'd be willing to plop down the full price for this game.
My name will be in the credits of your favorite video game someday! Don't forget that!
